EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO HILDE HORCHLER FOR TRIER SISTER CITY ACTIVITIES 0 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth culminated a two-year process on July 13 by signing a sister city agreement with the City of Trier, Republic of Germany, the oldest city in Germany, and, WHEREAS, the work which led to this historic agreement was begun by Hilde Horchler who created the German Sister City Committee and went about the tedious task of identifying potential German sister cities and conducting the required fact-finding tasks, and, WHEREAS, Hilde Horchler and her committe organized an itinerary for the Trier delegation during the seven days they spent in our city as part of the signing ceremonies, and, WHEREAS, the City Council of Fort Worth is confident that the efforts of Hilde Horchler will reap benefits for many years in the form of longlasting friendships, educational and cultural exchanges and economic development opportunities, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fort Worth officially express their appreciation and thanks to Hilde Horchler for her dedicated and selfless work in making Trier a Sister City and call on other citizens to look to Mrs. Horchler as an example of an outstanding ambassador for the city, and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread on the minutes of the Fort Worth City Council as a permanent record of Mrs. Horchler's great contribution to this community. ,APPROVED BY Passed this ,? day of CITY COUNCIL `UIL 2.t 101P ? 1 1 ^iY > S-Cretcrq of the M I City C14 F'-n I-' _ ' =Y OF FORT WORD'S
