AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY
LOCATED IN BLOCK K-1, DAGGETT'S ADDITION, AN UNRECORDED SUBDIVISION
SITUATED IN J. CHILDRESS SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 250, CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TARRANT COUNTY,TEXAS, CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 2,000 SQUARE FEET OF
LAND MORE OR LESS; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND;
PROVIDING THAT THE CITY SHALL RETAIN ALL EXISTING UTILITIES EASEMENTS;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That a portion of a ten foot wide alley, running between lots 1 through 16, Block K-1, Daggett's Addition, an
unrecorded subdivision to the City of Fort Worth situated the in the J. Childress Survey, Abstract No. 250,
City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, and containing approximately 2,000 square feet or 0.046 acre of land
more or less, and as more specifically described in Exhibits "A" and"B" attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the easement to the land in the above-described vacated alley right of way is hereby released and
shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
All existing utility easement be shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities located in that
easement are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

"10' ALLEY VACATION"
Being 2,000 square feet of land known as a 10 foot wide alley running between Lots 1 thru 16,Block K-
I,Daggett's Addition to the City of Fort Worth,Tarrant County,Texas(an unrecorded subdivision),and
situated in the J. Childress Survey, Abstract No. 250, City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas; and
being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an"X"cut in concrete,set at the intersection of the southerly R-O-W of 16th Street(60'
in width)with the easterly line of said alley,also being the northwest corner of a tract of land conveyed
as Tract 11 to Texas Wesleyan University, as recorded in Volume 12891, Page 248, Deed Records of
Tarrant County,Texas(D.R.T.C.T.);
THENCE S 30°26'38"E,along the easterly line of said alley,and along the westerly line of said Tract 11,
and passing along the westerly lines of said Lots 9 thru 16,in all,a distance of 200.00 feet to an"X"cut
in concrete,set at the southwest corner of said Tract 11,also being the intersection of the easterly line of
said alley with the northerly R-O-W of 17th Street(60'in width);
THENCE S 5903372" W, along the northerly R-O-W line of said 17th Street, passing along the
southerly line of said alley, a distance of 10.00 feet to the southwest corner of said alley, also being the
southeast corner of said Lot 1,and also being the southeast corner of a tract of land conveyed as Tract 1
to said Texas Wesleyan University,(Vol. 12891,Pg.248,D.R.T.C.T.);
THENCE N 30°26`38" W,along the westerly line of said alley,and along the easterly line of said Tract
1,and passing along the easterly lines of said Lots 1 thru 8,in all,a distance of 200.00 feet to an"X"cut
in concrete, set at the northeast corner of said Tract 1,also being the northeast corner of said Lot 8,and
also being the intersection of the westerly line of said alley with the southerly R-O-W line of said 16th
Street;

Adopt Ordinance Vacating an Alley in Block K-1, Daggett's Addition between 16th Street and Lancaster
Avenue to be Replatted with the Adjoining Property for an Existing Parking Lot (COUNCIL DISTRICT 9)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt the attached ordinance vacating an alley in block K-1, Daggett's Addition between 16th Street
and Lancaster Avenue to be replatted with the adjoining property for an existing parking lot; and
2. Waive the fair market value or any portion thereof of purchase price of this right-of-way easement for
the alley.
DISCUSSION:
Teague Nall and Perkins, on behalf of Texas A&M University, has requested vacation of this alley to be
replatted with the adjoining property for an existing parking lot. The City Plan Commission recommended
approval of this request at its meeting on June 27, 2018. An acceptable final plat (FS-18-170) has been
received in accordance with the Subdivision Ordinance.
The City of Fort Worth (City) originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through plat
dedication. The City does not own any fee interest in the right-of-way or own any property adjacent to lthe
right-of-way and did not expend any City funds to purchase the right-of-way easement. In accordance
with the City's policy regarding street and alley vacation transactions approved by the City Council on
March 6, 2007, Mayor and Council Communication (M&C G-15624), staff recommends waiving the fair
market value or any portion thereof of purchase price of this right-of-way easement for the alley.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9.
This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that approval of these recommendations will have no material effect on
City funds. Any assets recorded on the City's financial statements associated with this land will be
adjusted upon approval.
