AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$2,400 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE
PURCHASE OF LANDMARK PLAQUES, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; ANb PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to thaw amounts afiocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2008-
2007 in the Budget of the City Manager, there sha11 also be increased estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of $2,400 from available funds for the
purpose of funding the purchase of Iandmark plaques.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid,
inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or
judgment shaft in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this
ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 17142 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance
are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said
conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Adoption of Appropriation Ordinance to Allocate $2,400. Q{} for Purchase of Landmark Plaques
RECOMMEN®ATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated
receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund by $2,40Q00 in order to purchase landmark plaques.
DISCUSSION:
Owners of property designated as a Historic and Cultural Landmark or located within a Historic and Cultural
Landmark District are eligible to purchase a landmark plaque from the City to display on their house ar
building. The City purchases the plaques directly from the fabricator and then sells them to the property
owners at cost. Over the past 19 years, the City has sold 96 plaques at a cost of approximately $250.00
each. However, due to increasing production costs, the price per plaque has risen this year to $300A0
each.
The requested funds are currently in a special trust fund established for this purpose. The amount of
$2,400.00 will enable the purchase of eight plaques to fulfill current and anticipated future requests for the
next 12 months.
FISCAL INFORMATIONICERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated of
the Specia! Trust Fund.
