HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1116t V W A Resolution Adapted Resolution No. Establishing the Specific Projects for the 1986-88 Capital Improvement Program WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has numerous public facilities and :infrastructure projects in critical need of improvement, and has also experi- enced considerable growth necessitating provision of comparable public faci- lities to citizens in all areas of the City, and, WHEREAS, in recognition of this need, extensive efforts have been underway for some time to develop a balanced and comprehensive bond program which appropriately reflects the expressed needs and priorities of the citi- zenry; and, WHEREAS, on December 17, 1985, the City Council adopted a Resolu- tion establishing a Bond Election date of March 22, 1986 and propositions for improvements in six general areas, and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS that on March 22, 1986, citizens will be asked to consider propositions for six general areas of improvement on the Bond Election ballot as follows: 1986-88 Capital Improvement Program Proposition: Amount Streets a f' Zelated Improv::OiL+lts ^i upv?,it.ion $115,600,000 Park and Recreation Improvements Proposition 16,650,000 Library Improvements Proposition 10,000,000 Public Safety Improvements Proposition 5,750,000 Will Rogers Memorial Complex Proposition 12,000,000 Heritage Trail Development Proposition 4,900,000 TOTAL ALL PROPOSITIONS $164,900,000 J' QTY OF FOR? WORTR FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the amount of each proposition represents the total of all of the specific bond projects for that general area, as detailed on the attached project listings PROPOSED CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR 1986-88 - $164,900,000 JANUARY 9 1986 - SORTED BY PROPOSITION and PROPOSED CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR 1986-88 - $164,900,000 JANUARY 9 1986 - SORTED BY COUNCIL DISTRICTS. AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL. shall have the right to abandon or modify those specific projects which it proposes to undertake pursuant to this Resolution, provided that the City Council first determines that conditions have materially changed so that the project originally proposed has become unwise or unnecessary. In that event, the City Council may direct that the bond proceeds be expended for other projects within the purposes approved aid election.
