WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth desires to participate
with the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation
in the replacement of the Village Creek bridge spanning the,
intersection of Meadowbrook Drive and Randol Mill Road pursuant
to the Federal Aid Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement
Program, such participation to be accomplished jointly with
the City of Arlington, and,

WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth desires to maximize
the benefits available to it under the federal program in
obtaining federal funding for the replacement of the existing
bridge with a six-lane divided bridge, and,
WHEREAS, in order to receive the maximum federal funding
for the construction of such a bridge, the planned construction
of a six lane roadway approach to the bridge is required
to obtain such funding,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, THAT THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, agrees to construct a six lane roadway
approach to the west end of the proposed replacement of the
Village Creek bridge spanning the intersection of Meadowbrook
Drive and Randol Mill Road and to award the construction
contract for the roadway approach prior to completion of
said replacement bridge s as to conform to the funding
requirements of the Fede al )Aid Bridge Rehabilitation and
Replacement Program
