HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1119A Resolution Adopted Resolution No. f/- WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is a home rule municipality located in Tarrant County, Texas, and WHEREAS, the Fort Worth City Council adopted Resolution No 1105 on December 12, 1985, opposing the issuance of any permit to discharge wastewater into the waters of Lake Worth, Lake Benbrook, or Eagle Mountain Lake, and WHEREAS, the Fort Worth City Council deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens of Fort Worth to continue meaningful discussions with the Texas Water Commission and other interested agencies and parties concerning pending or future proposed permits to discharge wastewater into said lakes, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Fort Worth City Council that the Director of the Water Department is hereby authorized and directed to use all appropriate means including, but not limited to, cooperation, negotiation, opposition, and compromise with the Texas Water Commission and others, on any pending permit or future proposed permit for the discharge of wastewater effluent into Lake Worth, Lake Benbrook, and Eagle Mountain Lake and the scope, responsibility and funding of necessary water quality studies so that the waters of said lakes are protected in the most practical and effective manner APPROVED BY CITY COUNCIL.
