WHEREAS, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is conducting an in-depth inves-
tigation to determine a location for their denominational offices,
and,
WHEREAS, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) realizes that the location
selected needs to present the image of a caring community that
reflects a prudent lifestyle, and,
WHEREAS, the Committee on Location of General Assembly's Agencies acknow-
ledges that this is a very special moment for the church to be an
effective, faithful servant people of God, and,
a
WHEREAS, Fort Worth is one of six cities being considered as a possible
location that will house the offices of the General Assembly,
i.ncluding as a minimum the offices of the Moderator, the Stated
Clerk and the General Assembly Council, and,
WHEREAS, Fort Worth offers the amenities and environment that will allow
for the successful operation of the church's national offices and
will maximize their abilities to achieve mission-related objec-
tives,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
1. that the Committee on Location of General Assembly's Agencies
is by these presents invited and encouraged to recommend Fort
Worth as the location for the denominational offices,
2. that the City of Fort Worth commits to assisting in every way
possible the relocation of the offices and the assimilation of
those who move to our city,
3. that Mayor Bob Bolen is authorized and empowered to expedite
the commitments and support of the City Council of the City of
Fort Worth to best serve the needs of the Pre MM @yurch
(U.S.A.). CITY COUNCIL
