The tollroads have been well accepted by the citizens of the area and by the neighbors of the tollways, and, WHEREAS, the "user pay" aspects of the tollways are appropriate for new or alternative facilities, and the use of tollways has freed funds for other projects, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. J that the Texas Turnpike Authority should undertake a preliminary feasibility study for construction of a proposed Trinity Tollway and Trinity Tollway North, beginning at the C. F. Hawn Freeway, U. S. 75, in the southeast part of Dallas, proceeding west along the Trinity River to the juncture of the West Fork and the Elm Fork of the River, then west along the West Fork to Highway 121 in Fort Worth, and northward along the Elm Fork to Proposed Loop 190 at the intersection with Interstate Highway 35-E. Since the route extends along the river valleys, Council urges that special attention be paid to the environmental aspects of the construction of tollways in this location and the recreational potentials of the river valleys. Employees and officials of the City shall cooperate with the Texas Turnpike Authority in this effort, and the Authority shall keep in close contact with City officials, where appropriate, during the study. Upon completion of the study, the Authority shall present the results to the City for such further acti as may be indicated. ADOPTED THIS „2`i?
