HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1075TUESDAY, JULY 30, 1985 On motion of Council Member Lancaster, seconded by Council Member Wetherby, the recommendations, as contained in Mayor and Council Communication No C-9143, were adopted. Introduced Resolution Council Member Lancaster introduced a resolution and made a motion that it be adopted. The motion was seconded by Council Member Wetherby The resolution was read by the City Secretary The motion, carrying with it the adoption of said resolution, prevailed by the following vote AYES Mayor Pro tempore Williams, Council Members Zapata, Garrison, Lancaster, Wetherby, Bagsby, Newkirk, and Vance NOES None ABSENT Mayor Bolen The resolution, as adopted, is as follows Resolution No 1075 RESOLUTION 1075 A resolution approving the agreement dated between the State of Texas and the City of Fort ort or t e installation, construction, existence, use, operation and maintenance of a highway illumination project on Interstate Highway 30 at the interchange with Interstate Highway 35W and being further described as the elevated widening of said interchange, in the City of Fort Worth; and providing for the execution of said agreement. BE IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH Section 1 That the certain agreement dated , between the State of Texas and the City of Fort Wo'rFe installation, construction, existence, use, operation and maintenance of certain highway illumination located on interstate Highway 30 at the interchange with Interstate Highway 35W and being further described as the elevated widening of said interchange in the City of Fort Worth be, and the same is hereby approved, and that Douglas Harman, City Manager is hereby authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Fort Worth and to transmit the same to the State of Texas for appropriate action Auth an agreement for There was presented Mayor and Council Communication C-9144, dated July 23, the installation of the 1985, from the City Manager as follows Highway Illumination for the north increment SUBJECT Illumination and Maintenance Agreement For I-35W Interchange With (U S 287 interchange) I-30 North Increment (U S 287 Interchange) of the widening of I-35 at the interchange with I-30, auth execution RECOMMENDATIONS of a contraction, maintenance and operati It is recommended that agreement with the Stat of Texas on behalf of t 1, The City Council approve the attached Agreement for the City and adopted Resolu ion installation of the highway illumination system for the north No 1076 for the instal increment (U S 287 interchange) of the widening of I-35W at ation, construction the interchange with I-30 existence, use, operati i and maintenance of a 2 The City Manager be authorized to execute the attached Highway Illumination Construction, Maintenance and Operation Agreement with the Project on I-35W at the State of Texas on behalf of the City interchange with' I-30 north increment 3 The City Council adopt the attached Resolution for the installation, construction, existence, use, operation and maintenance of a highway illumination project on I-35W at the interchange with I-30, North Increment (U S 287 interchange) DISCUSSION The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation (SDHPT) is reconstructing and widening 1-35W at the interchange with I-30, known as the North Increment (U S 287 interchange) Included in this construction is the installation of a complete highway illumination system. The SDHPT has requested that the City enter into an agreement for the construction, maintenance and operation of the illumination system. The agreement provides that 1 The State will prepare and provide for the plans and specifications, advertise for bids, and let the construction contract. Prior to letting the contract, the State will obtain the City's consent to construct the facilities according to the proposed plans 4' TUESDAY, JULY 30, 1985 2 All costs of constructing the complete illumination system will be borne by the State 3 The City will furnish the electrical energy required for proper operation of the illumination system and further agrees to maintain and operate the system at no cost to the State, to include furnishing electrical energy during trial operation of the system during construction 4 The City will assume maintenance and operation of the system on a date to correspond with the date construction is completed and the project is accepted by the State On motion of Council Member Lancaster, seconded by Council Member Wetherby, the recommendations, as contained in Mayor and Council Communication No. C-9144, were adopted.
