WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and RPGA Design Group, Inc. (Architect) made and entered into City
Secretary Contract No. 29006 (The Contract)which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-19661,
the 15th day of July, 2003; and
WHEREAS, further amendment is necessary to reimburse the Architect for modification of design to
provide a tornado "safe room" by revising the Computer/Work Area room; and
NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, acting herein by and through their duly authorized
representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract:
1.
Article 1.1, SECTION I - SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, a fourth paragraph is added to read as
follows:
"Provide additional design services to include the design and documentation for a tornado "safe
room" by revising the Computer/Work Area room. The cost of this additional service is
$2,025.00."

Paragraph 1 of SECTION V- COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows:
"The total compensation for all of the assignments to be performed by Architect as described in
CHARACTER AND EXTENT of ARCHITECT'S SERVICES hereof shall be a fixed fee of
$167,275.00 plus $2,500.00 reimbursable expenses."
3.
All other provisions of this Contract which are not expressly amended herein shall remain in full force and
effect.

RE: Fire Station#38 — Safe Room
Fort Worth, Texas
Mr. Murayama:
In order that we might reach a clear understanding,please accept this as our proposal regarding
Additional Services for revisions to provide a tornado "safe room" in Fire Station#38. We submit
the following:
1) The following services and drawings will be provided by RPGA:
A. General
1. Revise the "Computer/Work Area" to provide reinforced concrete masonry unit
(CMU) walls with a reinforced concrete ceiling and reinforced door to provide an
on grade tornado "safe room" for the personnel at Fire Station#38.
2. Provide structural drawings for the"safe room."
B. Documentation
1. Provide revised Architectural and Structural Construction Documents for pricing
by the General Contractor.
C. Pricing
1. Reviewing pricing submitted by the General Contractor for approval by the City.
D. Construction Administration
1. Oversee the construction of the "safe room' as part of the ongoing Construction
Administration phase of this project.
2) RPGA estimates between 2 and 3 weeks to complete these services.
3) Our proposed Additional Services fee for Architectural and Structural services is $2,025.00.
All services will be billed on an hourly basis and all reimbursable expenses will be bill
an accrued basis as reimbursable expenses are accumulated. Service fees and r i � �iM� �
expenses for all services will be billed on a monthly basis as they accrue. r� o

4) Additional Services: Additional services may be performed as requested by the i��y°° � ��

major variances to the agreed-upon services and additional site visits will be billed on an hourly
basis.
5) The City of Fort Worth shall provide full information regarding the requirements of the
Project, and RPGA shall be entitled to rely upon the accuracy and completeness thereof,
including, but not limited to, all building information, including complete utility data and
restrictions, as well as, all essential information to be supplied by subcontractors or
consultants retained by the Owner.
If the above items reflect your understanding of our agreement and are otherwise satisfactory, please
sign two copies of this proposal and return them to RPGA Design Group. We will then execute a
Fully signed copy far your files.
