Adopted Resolution V OI THE STATE OF TEXAS S S JC NT RESOLUTION COUNTY OF TARRANT S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth will conduct an election on April 6, 1985, to fill the offices-of Mayor and City Councll and WHEREAS, Tarrant County will conduct an election on April 6, 1985, on the question of confirmation of the creation of a County- wide 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Number District, and the unincorpo- rated portions of Tarrant County will conduct an election on the question of the formation of a Rural Fire Prevention District, and WHEREAS, it is the finding of the governing bodies of the `E parties hereto that conducting such elections jointly would result in substantial savings to the taxpayers of the governmental entities required to conduct such elections and that xuph savings would be realized if the elections, where possible, be held in the sauce location, utilizing the same personnel and utilizing the same voting machines, with. the two governmental entities, sharing the expense@ incurred in the conduct of such elections= and WHEREAS, all the eligible voters of Tarrant County shall be entitled to vote in the election to determine the question of von- firmation of the creation of the County-rifle -1-1 > ergeney Telephone Number District, and all those eligible voters of Tarr#nt 3 t ?-• County Who are residents of the unincorporated port:.ona of said ,:,? , County shall be entitled to vgte on the question o toa Ap *atlan 0 a Rural Fire Prevention District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY JOINTLY RGBAYD by the Clay $: rt Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and. the Comm seioners' Court of Tarrant County, Tp*aa, that these tVo 00tttieaP where possible, shall conduct said elections jointly on April 6, 1985. That the following requirements as to,.,,the conduct of such elections shall be adhered to: V 1. .That in the event there are election precincts which include incorporated lying within the limits of the SOO City territory ?e Y` a and unincorporated territory, lying outside the limits of any city, said voters from the unincorporated. territory shall be allowed to vote only on the question of the confirmation of the creation of the County-wide 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Number District and on the question of formation of the Rural fire .. Prevention District; while those voters who are residents of e the City shall be allowed to vote only to fill the offices of Mayor and City Council and upon the confirmation of the eras- tion of the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone ombor Dis-trict. 2. That for those election precincts which include only incorpo- rated territory lying wholly within the said City, the same voting machines shalt. be used for the election of the Mayor and City Council and the election on the confirmation of the crea- tion of the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Number District.. That for election precincts which include incorporated territory lying within the limits of said City and unincorporated territory lying outside the limits of any city, the sauce voting machines shall be used for the voters from the incorporated territory to I vote for the election of the Mayor and the City! Council and upon the confirmation of the creation of the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Number District, and separate voting machines shall be used for the voters from the unincorporated territory to vote upon the confirmation of the areatlon of the .9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Number District and upon formation of the Rura3 Firs, Prevention District. 3. That the costs involved in conducting such ellsgtions jointly shall be shared as follows: (a) The County shall make available to the City, at no charge, the voting machines necessary, including transportation of sued machines, in those voting ..precincts where such elec- tions are to be conducted jointly.. (b) The City shall bear the cost of additional voting person- nel as may be required by the joint conduct of such elec- -2- tions in voting precincts located wholly or partly within the limits of the City of Fort Worth and the applicable charges for delivery to the County Clerk of the results of the 9-1-1 Telephone Number District confirmation election and the Rural Fire Prevention District formation election from such precincts. (c) All remaining costs of conducting the County-wide 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Number District confirmation election shall be divided equally between Tarrant County, the City of Fort Worth and the City of Arlington, provided, how- ever,, that there shall be excluded from the expense.a to be divided the cost of voting personnel,, voting machines, voting machine transportation and delivery of election results in voting precincts located wholly or partly with- in the City of Fort Worth and `in voting precincts lying wholly or partly within the City of Arlington. (d) The County shall provide the City with a detailed state- ment of all election expenses to be paid by the City and appropriate documentation of such expopppo. 4. That separate voter registration lists, poli lists and signs- Lure rosters will be kept for each of the three.phe:otiona being conducted. 5. That separate tally sheets and all election return reporta, required by law shall be maintained with respect to the elec- tion to fill the offices of Mayor and City Council, the elec- tion to confirm creation of the County-wide .9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Number District and the election on formation of a Rural Fire Prevention District. 6. That the same election judges, insofar as it is possible, shall preside over the three elections being conducted simultaneously at each voting precinct location and that, insofar as it is 0 -3- a? .a - r possible, the same set of election clerks shall be utilized to conduct each of the three elections being held simultaneously at each voting precinct.
