HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1055 • A Adopted Resolution No. I?C?solution AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE TARRANT COUNTY 9-1-1 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE DISTRICT THE STATE OF TEXAS S COUNTY OF TARRANT S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is a city that lies wholly or partly within Tarrant County; and WHEREAS, a majority of the votes cast by the voters of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, in the April 6, 1985, election, as found in the Final Official Canvass of the Election Records of Tarrant County, Texas, County Clerk's Office, were in favor of confirming the creation of the Tarrant County 9-1-1 Emergency Assistance District and authorizing a 9-1-1 emergency service fee to be charged; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: That the matters and facts recited in the preamble of this Resolution are found and determined to be true and correct; and That the City of Fort Worth, Texas, become a participating jurisdiction of the Tarrant County 9-1-1 Emergency assistance District, pursuant to the provisions of the Emergency Communication District Act (Article 1432d, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), with all the rights, privileges and duties as stated in said Act, partic- ularly the charging and collecting of the 9-1-1 emergency service fee according to the terms of said Act. It is understood that, once confirmed, the Tarrant County 9-1-1 Emergency Assistance District will be subject to public review every three (3) years, pursuant to Section 16 of the Emergency Communica- tion District Act, and that the continued existence or dissolution of the Tarrant County 9-1-1 Emergency Assistance District will be effected only by the terms of said Act.
