Dear Ms. Sharpe:
As discussed in the joint departmental meeting on October 14, 2005, the City asked
MAXIMUS to perform several additional tasks related to the Civil Plan Review User Fee
Study. These tasks were not included in my proposal letter dated July 7, 2005. In
response to my request for additional compensation, you asked me to submit a request for
a change order. Since that meeting, both City staff and MAXIMUS consultants have
spent considerable time adjusting expenditure information, time estimates, and reviewing
options and discussing fee structure alternatives. Since we are now close to completing
all the tasks, I prepared a single change order request that will cover all tasks to be
completed by December 31, 2005.
Detailed below are those additional tasks MAXIMUS completed after presentation of the
DRAFT Civil Plan Review User Fee Study on October 14, 2005. Some of these tasks are
included in the original scope of services and will be billed under the original contract
scope as Task 7 (Presentation of Results to City Officials/Developers/Other
Interested Parties). The City has already paid MAXIMUS for Tasks 1 through 6 as
defined in my original proposal letter.
