AN ORDINANCE REGULATING "FE OPERATION
OF MOTOR BUSSES IN TFE CITY OF FORT 17CRTH PRO-
HIBITING THE OPERATION THEREOF ALONG, ACRbSS,
UPON AND OVER CERTAIN' STREETS IN THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH : DEFINING A STREET : DEFINING A MO_
TOR BUS: FIXING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF
THIS ORDINANCE: PROVIDING THAT EACH DAY'S VI-
OLATION SHALL CONSTITUTE A SEPARATE OFFENSE :
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: AND THE REASON FOR THE
REGULATIONS PRESCRIBED: PROVIDING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ORDINANCES NO.
448 470, 547 and 586 EXCEPT WHERE IN DIF.ECT

BE IT .ORDAINED BY THE BOL-EM OF COM-
MISSIONERS OF THu CITY OF FORT WORTH:
Sec. l: Unless it appears from the con-
text that a different meaning is intended, the
following words shall have the meaning attached
to them by this section.
(a) The word "street" shall mean and in-
clude any street, alley, avenue, lane, public place
or highway within the city limits of the City of
Fort Worth.
(b) The words "motor bust" shall mean and
include any automobile, truck or trackless motor
vehicle, engaged in the business of carrying pass-
engers for hire within the city limits of the City
of Fort Worth, over, along, upon or across any
street thereof, as herein defined, which is held
out or announced by sign, voice, writing, device
or advertisement, to operate or run, or which is

intended to be operated or run over any particu-
lar street or route, or to any particular or
designated point, or between particular points,
or to or within any designated territory, dis-
trick or zone, or from any point within the city
limits of the Citv of Font Worth, to any point,
town, zone, territory, or place without said
city or from any town, city, point, place, zone
or territory without said city, to any point,
place, territory or zone within said City of Fort
Worth.
Any person operating an automobile, au-
tomobile truck, or trackless motor vehicle on
the donation plan, or any person operating such
a vehicle who shall receive money, or anything
of value from any person transported by him, or
any person operating such a vehicle who shall.
keep or carry on or about the same any box or
receptacle into which any person carried by such
operator of any such motor vehicle can or may
donate or deposit any money, or anything of
value, or keep use or put in operation any other
or similar scheme, device or subterfuge, design-
ed to receive money or anything of value from
any person carried on any such motor vehicle
shall, be held to be "carrying passengers for
hire" within the meaning of this subdivision of
this section.
(c) The word "person" shall include
both singular and plural, and shall mean and
embrace any person, firm, corporation., association.
partnership, or society.
SEC. II. It shall hereafter be unlawful
for any person, or persons firm, corporation, as-
sociation, partnership, or society to run or op-
erate or cause to be run or operated any motor
bus, as such vehicle is defined in this ordinance,
on, along, upon or over any of the following
streets and portions of streets in the City of
Fort Worth, Texas, viz:
(a Main Street between Front Street and
Weatherford Street.
(b) Houston Street between Weatherford
and. Thirteenth Streets.
(c) Commerce Street between Front Street
and Weatherford Street.
(d) Commerce Street between Front Street
and Weatherford Street.
(e) Jones Street between Front Street
and Weatherford Street,
(f Throckmorton Street between Weather-
ford and hirteenth Streets.
(g) Front Street and the highway or street
now designated as Handley Boulevard and Dallas
Pike, forming a continuation of Front Street from
the west line of Main Street eastward to the City
• limits of the City of Fort Worth. ,
(h) East. Fourth Street and the h i f away
forming a continuation thereof from Commerce
Street eastward across the East Fourth Street
bridge over Trinity River to Sylvania Avenues
(i) Any and every street intersecting
Throckmort on and Houston Streets from. Throck-
morton to Houston Streets, except Second Street.
(j) Any and every street intersecting
Main, Commerce, Calhoun and Jones Streets, be-
tween Weatherford and Front Streets from Main
Street to Jones Street in said City of Fort
'forth, Except Second Street.
SEC. III: Any person who shall violate
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceed-
ing $200.00.
SEC. IV: Each and every day's violation
of this ordinance shall constitute a separate of-
fense.
SEC. V: The present crowded and congest-
ed condition of the traffic on the streets and
portions of streets hereinbefore mentioned, and
the constantly increasing number of automobiles
and other vehicles using said streets, and portions
of streets, hereinbefore named, create a dangerous
condition and menace to life and property, there-
y by making it imperatively necessary to adopt and
enforce the regulations herein prescribed; and
this ordinance is, and is hereby declared to be,
an emergency measure necessary in the ordinary
course of the city's affairs, and a measure nec.
essary for the immediate preservation of the pub.

the City of Fort Worth, and shall be in force and
effect from and after its passage and five day's
publication, as required by law.
SEG. VI: The holding or adjudication of
any section, or subdivision of any section, or
any part of any subdivision of a section of this
ordinance to be invalid, shall not affect the, valid-
ity of any other section, or part of a sbudivision
of a section thereof, but all other sections, sub-
divisions of sections and parts of subdivisions
of sections, shall. be and remain in full force and
effect.
SEC. VII: This ordinance is hereby declar-
ed to be cumulative of all of the provisions of
ordinances No. 448, No. 470, No. 547 and No. 5860
regulating the operation of motor busses upon and
along the streets of the City of Fort Worth, and
shall not be held to repeal any of the provisions
of any such ordinances, except in those instances

where such ordinances are in direct conflict with
the express provisions of this ordinance.
SEC. VIII: This ordinance shall become
effective as to all streets and portions of streets
herein provided, from and after its passage and
five day's publication as provided by law.
