Home My WebLink AboutContract 33877 ' r AMENDMENT NO. 2 r STATE OF TEXAS S CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. �7 (No M&C Required) COUNTY OF TARRANT $ WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Huitt Zollars, Inc. made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 29668, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-19982 on the 19th day of March, 2003 and subsequently revised by one previous amendment; and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project: Sanitary Sewer Improvements to serve South Seminary Addition. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee; NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article I of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated July 10, 2006 a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $11,747 . 00 . 2 . Article II of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $205, 589 .00. Modifications to Lines "A", "A-1", "A-6", 44B-615, "B-7" and "D" Dear Mr. Chaubey: For revisions to proposed design alignments, easement exhibits and subsequent meetings to accommodate homeowners and CFW Water Department, Huitt-Zollars, Inc. presents this proposed contract amendment for the following services additive to the contract. This amendment generally consists of two parts. Part I involves modifications to initial 8" sanitary sewer designs(Amendment No.l) adjacent to Crowley and Risinger Roads. Part II involves modification to proposed sanitary sewer alignments parallel to existing M-624* along Prairieview, North Lakeside and Eastview Drives. Part I: Sanitary sewer Line "B-7" was shifted 7.5 feet south to fulfill homeowners requests at Lots 17 and 20, Block 13, situated at southwest corner of Crowley and Risinger Roads. Meetings with homeowners, DOE land agent and DOE engineering staff were required to resolve homeowners concerns. A"collective change of heart" of homeowners, Lots 1 through 12, Block 13, again content with existing septic systems after re-evaluation of san. sew. across property frontage resulted in modification to layout, customer index and several plan profile sheets. Lastly, owner of Lots 7 and 8, Block 1, reconsidered and requested connection to rear of commercial property, in order to maintain uninterrupted customer access to convenience store from Crowley Road. Design revision consisted of reduction in length of SS Line "A" in Crowley Rd. and extension of Line "A-1" in Southview Drive connecting to proposed sanitary sewer in Parkview Drive. CRY 6EC'MMY S. Seminary Addition HUITTOOLM Amendment No. 2 Page 2 Part II: CFW Water Department requested analysis of a sewer line with single direction flow in lieu of split flow design for 8" SS Line "A-6". A draft design, 1"=40ft exhibit and .pdf was provided for a 1,635 linear ft. sanitary sewer line in Eastview Drive flowing north from Ruthdale Drive to Southworth Drive eliminating initial reverse flow design. Water Department also directed Huitt-Zollars to design sanitary sewer manholes over existing 24" M-624* and eliminating off-set manhole designs as previously directed. CFW Water Department directed HZ to eliminate 8" San. Sew. Line designs in plan set parallel to existing M-624*(Lines "A-6", "B-6" and"D") as homeowners will be responsible for connection to existing 24" sewer if they choose to use public system.
