HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 49485-A2 CITY SECRETARY CCONTRACT No. �-q4a 5-42- ��GC AMENDMENT No.2 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Neel-Schaffer, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 49485, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C C-28302 on the 19t day of August, 2017 in the amount of $458,204 . 00; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by: Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $14, 980 . 00 administratively authorized on May 30, 2018; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Churchill Road Water and Sanitary Sewer Improvements; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1 . Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated November 9, 2018, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $58,341 . 00 (Water: $47,418 .00; Sewer: $10, 923.00) . 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $531,525 . 00 . 3. Sr. Professional Engineer City of Fort Worth- Water Department 311 West 10th Street Fort Worth, Texas 76102 Reference: Churchill Road Water and Sanitary Sewer Improvements Contract Amendment 2 for Additional Services to Revise Alignments of 24" and 8" Water Lines, and 8" Sewer Lines; and to Study a Proposed 12"Water Line in Jacksboro Highway(SH 199)from Ephriham Avenue(SH 183)to West Long Avenue Dear Lawrence: Neel-Schaffer, Inc. offers additional Professional Engineering Services for this project. These additional services were requested by the City of Fort Worth for four reasons. First, to generally move the proposed 8"water lines from their designed locations adjacent to the existing 12"or 6" water lines to locations coinciding with the existing water lines to the extent feasible. Second, to allow more separation of the proposed 24" water line from water lines operated by the City of River Oaks. Third, to allow more separation of the proposed 24"water line and the proposed 8" water line. Fourth, to prepare a preliminary study (feasibility, alignment and tentative construction cost)for approximately 1,800' of a 12"line for this section. The study would include: data collection for existing records from Fort Worth (CITY GIS Data, Aerial Topography, Planimetrics, etc.) of water, sewer, drainage, paving, plats, available easements; data collection from TxDOT for the State Highways; a site visit; development of three potential horizontal alignments and typical cross sections; one conceptual plan view drawing at 40 scale with two plan views that shows the potential alignments; one typical section sheets that shows the three options; preparing conceptual opinions of probable construction cost for the alignments; preparing a letter report; and attending a kickoff meeting and a review meeting.Modeling is not included. Neel-Schaffer, Inc. proposes to increase the contract amount by $58,340.00 for these additional services which will include redesign for approximately 6,300' of 24" water line, about 8,000 of 8" water line and around 3,000' of sanitary sewer line; and the study.
