Reference: Churchill Road Water and Sanitary Sewer Improvements Contract Amendment 2
for Additional Services to Revise Alignments of 24" and 8" Water Lines, and 8"
Sewer Lines; and to Study a Proposed 12"Water Line in Jacksboro Highway(SH
199)from Ephriham Avenue(SH 183)to West Long Avenue
Dear Lawrence:
Neel-Schaffer, Inc. offers additional Professional Engineering Services for this project. These
additional services were requested by the City of Fort Worth for four reasons. First, to generally
move the proposed 8"water lines from their designed locations adjacent to the existing 12"or 6"
water lines to locations coinciding with the existing water lines to the extent feasible. Second, to
allow more separation of the proposed 24" water line from water lines operated by the City of
River Oaks. Third, to allow more separation of the proposed 24"water line and the proposed 8"
water line. Fourth, to prepare a preliminary study (feasibility, alignment and tentative
construction cost)for approximately 1,800' of a 12"line for this section.
The study would include: data collection for existing records from Fort Worth (CITY GIS Data,
Aerial Topography, Planimetrics, etc.) of water, sewer, drainage, paving, plats, available
easements; data collection from TxDOT for the State Highways; a site visit; development of
three potential horizontal alignments and typical cross sections; one conceptual plan view
drawing at 40 scale with two plan views that shows the potential alignments; one typical section
sheets that shows the three options; preparing conceptual opinions of probable construction cost
for the alignments; preparing a letter report; and attending a kickoff meeting and a review
meeting.Modeling is not included.
Neel-Schaffer, Inc. proposes to increase the contract amount by $58,340.00 for these additional
services which will include redesign for approximately 6,300' of 24" water line, about 8,000 of
8" water line and around 3,000' of sanitary sewer line; and the study. All additional services will
be performed in accordance with the original contract dated August 9, 2017.
