DISCUSSION:
The Storm Water Management program was established to reduce flooding in Fort Worth, preserve
streams, minimize water pollution and to operate the storm water system in a more effective manner to
fully comply with state and federal regulatory requirements. This will be accomplished by infrastructure
reconstruction and system maintenance, master planning, enhanced development review and increased
public education and outreach.
A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to provide channel condition assessments was issued by the City in
March of 2010 and 36 design consultants submitted statements of qualifications, including Alan Plummer
Associates, Inc. Alan Plummer Associates, Inc., was selected to evaluate the drainage issues and to
provide design services for the Forest Hill Channel Improvements Project (City Project No. 01677).
Currently an under-sized drainage channel has caused flooding in a nearby neighborhood. The purpose of
the project is to address home and street flooding at various locations in the 7900 Block of Forest Hill
Drive.
