AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
AVENUE L, SITUATED IN THE DUNLAP'S SUBDIVISION, CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS; AS RECORDED IN
VOLUME 1978, PAGE 364 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF TARRANT
COUNTY, TEXAS, CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 11,030.0 SQUARE
FEET OR 0.253 ACRES OF LAND; AND A PORTION OF CONNER
AVENUE, SITUATED IN THE POLYTECHNIC HEIGHTS ADDITION,
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AS RECORDED
IN VOLUME 63, PAGE 109 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF TARRANT
COUNTY, TEXAS, CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 19,314.0 SQUARE
FEET OR 0.443 ACRE OF LAND, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE
IN SAID LAND; PROVIDING THAT THE CITY SHALL RETAIN ALL
EXISTING UTILITIES EASEMENTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CONVEYANCE OF THE RIGHT OF
WAY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That a portion of Avenue L, as shown per plat of Dunlap's Subdivision, City of Fort
Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 1978, Page 364 of the Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas, and a portion of Conner Avenue (Chappell Street per plat) as shown per
plat of Polytechnic Heights Addition, City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, as recorded in
Volume 63, Page 109 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, , and containing
approximately 11,030.0 square feet or 0.253 acres of land and 19,314.0 square feet or 0.443 acre
of land more or less respectively, and as more specifically described in Exhibits "A" and "B"
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and
extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above - described vacated street right of way is hereby
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
All existing utility easements be shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located in said easements are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Adopt Ordinance Vacating a Portion of Conner Avenue and a Portion of Avenue L within Dunlap's
Subdivision and Polytechnic Heights Addition (COUNCIL DISTRICT 5)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt attached ordinance vacating a portion of Conner Avenue and a portion of Avenue L within
Dunlap's Subdivision and the Polytechnic Heights Addition; and
2. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City Policy (M &C G-
15624).
DISCUSSION:
Baird, Hampton and Brown, Inc., on behalf of the Fort Worth Catholic Diocese, has requested the vacation
of the above referenced rights -of -way to replat the right -of -way with the adjoining property for additional
parking and private drives. The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its
meeting on April 27, 2011. An acceptable replat (FS- 011 -043) has been received. Any existing utilities will
be relocated at the applicant's expense, or retained within a designated easement, along with an
appropriate plat note that no permanent structures may be constructed or placed thereon.
The City of Fort Worth (City) originally obtained the above mentioned rights -of -way through the platting
process. In accordance with City Policy (M &C G- 15624) and since no City funds have been expended to
purchase property or easement rights, collection of the fair market value or any portion thereof is
recommended by staff to be waived.
This land is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 5.

The Financial Management Services Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City
funds.

Portion of Conner Avenue
BEING a tract of land situated in the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Said tract being a
portion of a street known as Conner Avenue (Chappell Street per plat) as shown per plat of
Polytechnic Heights Addition as recorded in Volume 63, Page 109 of the Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas, said tract of land being more particularly described by metes and bounds
as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of Lot 6, Dunlap's Subdivision as recorded in Volume 1978,
Page 364 of said Deed Records, said beginning point being at the intersection of the south right
of way line of Avenue L with the west right of way line of Conner Avenue;
THENCE North 00 degrees 12 minutes 02 seconds West, a distance of 50.00 feet to a point on
the south line of Lot 7 -BR, Dunlap's Subdivision as recorded in Cabinet B, Page 333 of said Plat
Records also being on the north right of way line of Avenue L;
THENCE North 89 degrees 47 minutes 58 seconds East, along the south line of City of Fort
Worth Ordinance No. 10706, an ordinance to vacate, abandon, close and extinguish a portion of
Conner Avenue, a distance of 50.86 feet to the west line of Block 113 -R -A, Polytechnic Heights
Addition as recorded in Volume 388 -28, Page 199 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas
also being on the east right of way line of Conner Avenue;
THENCE South 00 degrees 20 minutes 25 seconds East, along said east right of way line of
Conner Avenue and said west line of Block 113 -R -A, a distance of 380.81 feet to a found 5/8 inch
capped iron rod stamped "BHB INC" being the southwest corner of said Block 113 -R -A and being
on the northerly right of way line of Burchill Road;
THENCE North 80 degrees 25 minutes 22 seconds West, a distance of 52.55 feet to the
southeast corner of Lot 1, of said Dunlap's Subdivision as recorded in Volume 1978, Page 364;
THENCE North 00 degrees 12 minutes 02 seconds West, along the east line of said Lot 1 and
also being the west line of Conner Avenue, a distance of 321.89 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING and containing 19,314.0 Square Feet or 0.443 acre of land.
