AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT SELMA STREET FROM BRIT-
TAIN STREET WESTWARD ABUTTING LOT 1, BLOCK 17,
LOT 10, BLOCK 18, AND LOT 7, BLOCK 52, SPRINGDALE
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY,
TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING
FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the following portion of Selma Street be and the
same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently •vacated as a
street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character what-
ever, save and except that the anchor easement is retained
therein:
Selma Street from Brittain Street westward abut-
ting Lot 1, Block 17; Lot 10, Block 18; and Lot
7, Block 52, Springdale Addition to the City of
Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas,
SECTION 2
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to
the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to
the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage.

Carlton Sanders, owner of Lot 1, Block 17, with consent of all other abutting
owners, has requested that the City vacate Selma Street in the 3600 block a
width of 50 feet and a length of approximately 160 feet from Brittain Street
westward abutting Lot 1, Block 17; Lot 10, Block 18; and Lot 7, Block 52,
'ec-' Springdale Addition, as shown on the attached map.
Subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is neither paved nor open and
contains only a 10' x 30' anchor easement, which Texas Electric Service
Company requests be retained.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have no objections
to this request provided:
1. The existing 10' x 30' anchor easement is retained;
2. Selma Street at Brittain Street is physically closed with standup
curb and gutter or provided with a driveway approach, and,
3. The vacated right-of-way is replatted with adjoining property.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that an
ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way as requested. A satis-
factory replat has been submitted to City staff, and satisfactory arrange-
ments have been made to physically close Selma Street at Brittain Street.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way
as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
