Kayser, City Secretary With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the Fort Worth City Council Work Session to order at 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, in City Council Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. Report of the City Manager—David Cooke, City Manager a. Changes to the City Council Agenda M&C G-19477 will be withdrawn and a new M&C will be forthcoming M&C C-29020 will be withdrawn and Council will consider a revised M&C. b. Upcoming and Recent Events e Council retreat will be held this Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Meacham Conference Center. c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s) evin Gunn presented a check to the City on behalf of CoSery Electric Cooperative. Theresa Ewing recognized the Municipal Court Staff and individuals for awards presented by the North Texas Court Clerks Association. Front Line Award—Monica Zapata Professionalism Award—Antonio Olivos Excellence Award- The Fort Worth Municipal Court. Overview of Significant Zoning Cases — Dana Burghdoff, Planning and Development Department Ms. Dana Burghdoff, Planning and Development Department, provided an overview of Significant zoning cases. 5. Status of the Education Initiative Action Plan - Dr. Gleniece A. Robinson, Educational Strategies, Dr. Kent Scribner and Dr. Cheryl Mixon, Fort Worth Independent School District Dr. Gleniece Robinson, Educational Strategies, Dr. Kent Scribner and Dr. Cheryl Mixon, Fort Worth Independent School District, provided an update on the City's program for intentional, lneasureable reading intervention. Council will be asked to endorse the plan at the February 12, 2019, Council Meeting; training will take place during April and May; and the furnmer Program will be implanted June 10—July 26, 2019. Briefing on 2019 Competitive Housing Tax Credit Applications - Aubrey Thagard, Neighborhood Services Department Mr. Aubrey Thagard, Neighborhood Services Department, briefed the Council on the recommendations for the competitive 9% Housing Tax Credits. All properties recommended will pay taxes. The resolutions will be on the February 12, 2019, Council agenda for action. 7. Presentation on Proposed Tax Abatement Agreement with Ben E. Keith - Michael Hennig, Economic Development Department Mr. Michael Hennig, Economic Development Department, presented the proposed Tax Abatement Agreement for Ben E. Keith. It is a proposed 7-year 50% tax abatement on real and business personal property. The proposed agreement will be on the February 12, 2019, Council agenda for consideration. 8. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports Council Member Bivens and Zadeh—education piece on Quiet Zones. Council Member Jordan — How do we use our Economic Development Incentives to incentivize the growth we want? 9. Executive Session (CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL, ROOM 290) There was no need for Executive Session. Mayor Price adjourned the City Council Work Session at 4:27 p. m.
