HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 10246 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 10246 March5, 2019 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council Page 1 of 1 SUBJECT: PROPOSED COUNCIL-INITIATED ZONING CHANGES FOR THE UNITED RIVERSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 8 The March 5th City Council agenda will contain an M&C to initiate the rezoning process for approximately 279.3 acres, covering 757 parcels, of the United Riverside Neighborhood in the Northeast sector of Fort Worth. Council Member Allen Gray requested the proposed zoning changes to rezone residential, institutional, commercial, industrial, and vacant property to zoning classifications that are consistent with the existing land uses and the Comprehensive Plan. For your reference, the attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use in the Comprehensive Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning. A meeting has been held for the affected property owners on January 22, 2019 in the Doc Session Community Center. No one has expressed opposition to date. Public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held by the Zoning Commission on April 10, 2019, and by the City Council on May 7, 2019. Apr. 10 Zoning Commission conducts public hearing and makes recommendation on proposed zoning changes. May 7 City Council conducts public hearing and makes decision on zoning changes. 4
