Home My WebLink AboutContract 50312-A1 CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 5 0313- AMENDMENT No.1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Freese and Nichols, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 50312 , (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C C-28566 on the 301 day of January, 2018 in the amount of $3,099,361 . 00 ; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Lake Arlington Lift Station and Force Main; and WMEREAIS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1 . Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated December 17, 2018, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $229,755.00 . 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $3,329,116.00. (FNI) is providing this proposal to amend the Engineering Design Services for the Lake Arlington Lift Station and Force Main (City Project Number 100995).The following fee includes the costs for environmental study,geotechnical investigation,and engineering design relating to approximately 1,000 linear feet of aerial pipe crossing Lake Arlington and its required supports, plus investigation of eight additional geotechnical boring areas. FNI records show that this proposal would serve as Contract Amendment No. 1. • Environmental services required to design pier support system under NWP 12 or 25 • Geotechnical investigation and engineering recommendation required for design of pier support system. (City Project No. 100995) DISCUSSION: On January 30, 2018, Mayor and Council Communication (M&C C-28566) the City Council authorized the execution of an Engineering Agreement with Freese and Nichols, Inc., in the amount of$3,099,361.00 for the preparation of plans and specifications for the Lake Arlington Lift Station and Force Main Project. Amendment No. 1 will provide plans and specifications for a 1,000 linear feet aerial pipe crossing of Lake Arlington to accommodate the proposed force main. The amendment will also allow for additional geotechnical investigations at 8 locations along the force main. This project will have no impact on the Water Department's Operating Budget when complete. M/WBE OFFICE: Freese and Nichols, Inc., is in compliance with City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 33 percent SBE participation on this amendment. The City's SBE goal approved by the MWBE office on this amendment is five percent. The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 5. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the Water and Sewer Capital Projects 2018 Bond Fund for Lake Arlington Lift Station and Force Main Project.
