Kayser, City Secretary With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the Fort Worth City Council Work Session to order at 3:08 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, in City Council Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. 1. Report of the City Manager—David Cooke, City Manager a. Changes to the City Council Agenda M&Cs L-16203, L-16204 and ZC-19-039 will be continued until June 11, 2019. b. Upcoming and Recent Events Main Street Arts Festival—April 11-14, 2019. Unity Across the Trinity: A Neighborhood Health Summit—April 13, 2019 c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s) Council Member Ann Zadeh recognized Jocelyn Murphy and congratulated her on her new position as Assistant Director of Planning and Community Development with the City of Irving. d. Informal Reports 1. IR 10259: Sale of Fort Worth Convention Center Real Estate to Omni CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 9, 2019 Page 2 of 3 2. Current Agenda Items - City Council Members Staff answered questions on G-19521 and P-12321. 3. Responses to Items Continued from a Previous Week a. ZC-19-037 - (Council District 6 —Jungus Jordan) - Lukarh Investments, LLC, 9605 Old Granbury Road (located at the intersection of Brewer and Risinger Road); From: " G" Intensive Commercial To: PD/G Planned Development for all uses in " G" Intensive Commercial plus self-storage facility; site plan included 5.49 acres (Recommended for Approval by the Zoning Commission) (Continued from April 2, 2019 by Council Member Jordan) Case will be heard at the Council meeting. 4. Presentation on Convention Center Expansion and Redevelopment of Southern Downtown —Susan Alanis, City Manager's Office Assistant City Manager Susan Alanis, City Manager's Office, provided an update on progress in southern downtown and update on the Convention Center expansion, renovation and timeline. 5. Briefing on Response to Economic Development and Education Recommendations of the Task Force on Race and Culture — Robert Sturns, Economic Development Department, Gleniece Robinson, City Manager's Office, Mattie Parker, Mayor's Office, and Monique Hill, Neighborhood Services Department Mr. Robert Sturns, Economic Development Department, Dr. Gleniece Robinson, City Manager's Office, Ms. Mattie Parker, Mayor's Office, and Ms. Monique Hill, Neighborhood Services Department, updated the Council on activities, progress and next steps related to Economic Development and Education Recommendations of the Race and Culture Task Force. 6. Presentation on the 2019 Debt Plan —Kevin Gunn, Financial Management Services Mr. Kevin Gunn, Financial Management Services, presented an update on the 2019 debt plan and provided next steps. 7. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports Council Member Flores—numerous items related to Police. Council Member Shingleton — safe place for residents during tornado warnings or other severe weather. Executive Session (CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL, ROOM 290) Mayor Price adjourned the City Council Work Session at 5:26 p. m.
