COMMISSIONERS COURT ACTION REOUESTED:
It is requested that the Commissioners Court accept a 1999 Chevrolet 2500 Pickup awarded to the
Tarrant Regional Auto Crimes Task Force (Task Force) through Forfeiture and Judgment, and approve
a contract with City of Fort Worth to sell the truck to the Fort Worth Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
A 1999 Chevrolet Pickup was awarded to the Task Force. Tarrant County does not have a need for
this truck and considers it surplus. The Fort Worth Police Department, a participating agency of the
Task Force has a legitimate law enforcement need for the vehicle.
The City of Fort Worth agrees to purchase the vehicle for $1.00. After payment is received, the title
will be transferred to the Fort Worth Police Department pursuant to Texas Local Government Code
263.152 (1).
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action will have no fiscal impact to the County's FY 2019 General Fund. The proceeds will be
deposited to the Task Force's generated program income account in the manner prescribed in the
Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority Administrative Guidelines.
