Home My WebLink AboutContract 36630AMENDMENT NO. 1 STATE OF TEXAS S CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO.du� (M&C Not Required) COUNTY OF TARRANT S WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc., (Engineer) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 33879, (the Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-21583 on the 7th day of July, 2006, and WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the following project. Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacement Contract 2005 STM-F. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 1 to said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised maximum fee, NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract. 1. Article I, of the Contract is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal letter dated January 8, 2008, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total $21,658.00, 2. Article II, of the Contract is amended to provide for an increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall not exceed the sum of $120,512. 02-14-08 P02�47 � 3. We are proposing to provide these additional services for a total of $21,658. The proposed additional scope includes the following: ■ The design of approximately 675 LF of 12-Inch sanitary sewer and approximately 40 LF of 8- Inch sanitary sewer including additional surveying services. ■ Survey of the concrete panels for the northbound lanes. This survey is to provide information to assist in determining the proposed 12-Inch water line alignment that results in the most cost- effective solution minimizing pavement reconstruction. This survey is described in the enclosed scope provided by ANA Consultants, LLC. ■ Report alignment recommendation for the 12-Inch water line based on imdings from the Panel Survey. This includes revising the proposed alignment location on the construction plans. ■ Letter Report of alignment alternatives based on evaluation of pavement reconstruction submitted February 24, 2007. The breakdown of the proposed fee is as follows: $ 7,858 (Water Cost - $ 0, Sewer Cost - $ 7,858) Brown &Gay Engineers, Inc. —Basic Services $ 4,850 (Water Cost - $2,600, Sewer Cost - $ 2,250) ANA Consultants, Inc. —Surveying Services $ 8,950 (Water Cost - $5,510, Sewer Cost - $ 3,440) Brown &Gay Engineers, Inc. —Additional Services $21,658 (Water Cost - $8,110, Sewer Cost - $13,548) This amendment increases the total contract amount from $98,854 to $120,512. The fee for surveying increases from $16,525 to $21,375. The fee for engineering increases from $82,329 to $99,137. Enclosed is a copy of the engineer's opinion of probable construction cost. The pay items are reflective of the standard pay items per CPMS Bid list. The unit prices were updated based on recent City bids.
