AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GRANTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $21,663.90,
SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF AN ADDITIONAL GRANT AWARD FROM THE TEXAS
DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING
THE CITY'S EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICE; PROVIDING FOR A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR
ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2011 -2012 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Grants
Fund in the amount of $21,663.90, subject to receipt of an additional grant award from the Texas Division
of Emergency Management, for the purpose of funding the City's Emergency Management Office.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or
void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way
impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining
provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No.1 99 1 1 -09 -20 1 1 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in
direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions
of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Authorize Acceptance of an Additional $21,663.90 for the Fiscal Year 2011 Emergency Management
Preparedness Grant Award from the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Execution of the
Grant Contract for the Total Amount of the Award and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance (ALL COUNCIL
DISTRICTS)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorizes the acceptance of an additional $21,663.90 for the Fiscal Year 2011 Emergency
Management Preparedness Grant award from the Texas Division of Emergency Management for a total
grant award in the amount of $166,089.90 to fund the City's Emergency Management Office;
2. Authorizes the City Manager or his desgnee to execute a grant contract with the Texas Division of
Emergency Management for the total amount of the award; and
3. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing appropriations and estimated receipts in the
amount of $21,663.90 in the Grants Fund.
DISCUSSION:
The City Council previously approved M &C G- 17100, which authorized the application for the Fiscal Year
2011 Emergency Management Performance Grant Program award, acceptance of the grant in the
anticipated amount of $144,426.00 and execution of the grant contract. The final grant award was an
additional $21,663.90, for a total of $166,089.90. The match required by the additional award was met out
of the expenditures incurred in Fiscal Year 2011 and have already been submitted. No additional match is
required.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations
and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating
budget, as appropriated, of the Grants Fund.
