Home My WebLink AboutContract 35920 AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AGREEMENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES SHAMBLEE BRANCH LIBRARY STATE OF TEXAS CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO.Vy'1� COUNTY OF TARRANT WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and Dennehy Architects, Inc., (Architect) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 33562 (The Contract)which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-21447, the 9th day of May, 2006; and WHEREAS, further amendment is necessary to reimburse the Architect for the additional design required for the new basement slab and the additional footings to reinforce the exterior walls for the existing Tommy Tucker Building; and NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract: 1. Article 1.1, SECTION I—SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, a paragraph is added to read as follows: "Provide additional design services to replace the existing basement slab and provide additional footings to reinforce the exterior walls of the Tommy Tucker Building which is part of the new Shamblee Branch Library project. The cost of this additional service is $5,000.00. The scope of services is more fully described in the Dennehy Architects letter dated September 20, 2007, subject: Ella M. Shamblee Branch Library Additional Services, and APM & Associates, Inc letter dated July 23, 2007, subject: TTB Basement Structural Slab Redesign Services Proposal, Ella M. Shamblee Branch Library, Fort Worth, Texas, which are attached hereto as Attachments "A" and"B" and a part of this Agreement." 2. Paragraph 1 of SECTION V-COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows: "The total compensation for all of the assignments to be performed by Architect as described in CHARACTER AND EXTENT of ARCHITECT'S SERVICES hereof shall be a fixed fee of $112,939.00 plus up to $19,800 in reimbursable expenses." 3. Paragraph 2 of SECTION V—COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows: "Reimbursement of allowable expenses shall not exceed $19,800 and shall be payable monthly as allowable expenses are incurred." Due to the amount of demolition required for new utilities below the slab and the waterproof work being carried out around the perimeter of the building it was reviewed and discussed that it would'be an ideal time to replace the original slab. Note that this work includes additional footings to reinforce the exterior walls that have settled in some areas. /: Its -P Ny{1 T No, 1 � 0-I5bsoo • Baird, Hampton and Browny—Relocation of the main panels for the project from the basement of the Tommy Tucker Building to the Mechanical Room near the Main Entry of the Library. In onsite conversations with the power company, BHB and the City of Fort Worth Project Engineer, it was agreed that a relocation of the Main Panels closer to the available power poles along Verbena would be in the best interest of the project as it eases the routing and connection of the service feed to the building.
