HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 52555 f , CITY SECRETARYr V, CONTRACT NO. 5R 55 5 Literacy Support Specialist Memorandum of Understanding Between Read Fort Worth and Summer Scholars Collaborative Programs This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) sets for the terms and understanding between Read Fort Worth and the programs participating in the Summer Scholars Collaborative to support the hiring, funding, and employment of Literacy Support Specialists (LSS). Background Read Fort Worth is providing the funding for Literacy Support Specialists for participating programs in the 2019 Summer Scholars Collaborative. Literacy Support Specialists have been screened and interviewed by Read Fort Worth and program partners, and have been assigned to participating programs by Read Fort Worth. Literacy Support Specialists will provide program support based on program needs in the following areas: Literacy Instruction Knowledge Staff Mentoring/Coaching Classroom Management Support Proctoring Program Specific Literacy Assessments" Literacy Support Specialists may provide support in one or two primary areas versus all areas of support based on program need and the skill set of the LSS. Purpose This MOU will outline the areas of responsibility for Read Fort Worth,program partners, and the Literacy Support Specialists. The above goals will be accomplished by undertaking the following activities: Read Fort Worth • Read Fort Worth will provide the funding for the LSS's - a total of$3,500 for 20 hours a week of work for 7 weeks, as well as $140 for mileage for each LSS. • Read Fort Worth will provide a best practices and family engagement survey for all LSS's to use and submit weekly Program Partner OFFICIAL RECORD CITY SECRETARY F`. WORTH,TX • The program partner will serve as the LSS `employer,' meaning they will: o Ensure that each LSS is aware of the program start and end date, as well as the hours they will be expected to work. o Ensure the LSS is paid with the funds provided by Read Fort Worth through the program's normal payment model o Supervise the LSS and ensure they complete their hours,perform their duties as assigned. Reporting Read Fort Worth • Read Fort Worth will receive and review weekly reports from the LSS through the best practices and family engagement survey Program Partner • Programs will send an email to Read Fort Worth (Contact will be Danielle Stenger, danielle.stengergreadfortworth.org) if the LSS does not complete their weekly 20 hours • Programs are responsible for monitoring and tracking LSS time worked Funding Read Fort Worth • Read Fort Worth will provide the funding for the LSS's - a total of$3,500 for 20 hours a week of work for 7 weeks, as well as $140 for mileage for each assigned LSS. Program Partner • Programs are responsible for any further compensation if LSS exceeds 20 hours a week Duration This MOU is at-will and may be modified by mutual consent of authorized officials from Read Fort Worth and program partners. This MOU shall become effective upon signature by the authorized officials from the program partners and will remain in effect until modified or terminated by any one of the partners by mutual consent. In the absence of mutual agreement by the authorized officials from program partners this MOU shall end on (end date of partnership).
