FLORENCE, LEXINGTON, THIRTEENTH, COLLIER, AND BALLINGER STREETS, AND RIO GRANDE AND RAMSEY AVENUES IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION: MAKING APPROPRIATION FOR THE INDEBTEDNESS INCURRED THEREBY: AND AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE ESTIMATES. sec, on the 20th day of October, 1954, by Ordinance passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, being Ordinance No. 3258, the City determined the necessity for and ordered the improvement of portions of the following streets, to-wit: EAST BLUFF STREET: from the easterly right-of-way line af the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway to the westerly line of Hampton Street, known and designated as Unit No. 1. EAST FIRST STRE'A7.': from the easterly line of Elm Street to the westerly line of Harding Street, known and designated as Unit No. 2. EAST FIRST STREETi from the easterly line of Jones Street to the easterly line of Pecan Street, known and designated as Unit No. 3. EAST SECOND STREET: from the westerly line of Elm Street to the easterly line of Hampton Street, known and designated as Unit No. 4. EAST FOURTH STREET: from the westerly line of Elm Street to the easterly line of Crump Street, known and designated as Unit No. 5. HAMPTON STREET: from the northerly line of Bast First Street to the northerly line of East Second Street, known and designated as Unit No. 6. CRUMP STREET: from the southerly line of East Second Street to the northerly line of Bast Fourth Street, save and except the intersection of East Third Street, known and designated as Unit No. 7. ELM STREET: from the southerly line of East First Street to the northerly line of Bast Second Street, known and designated as Unit No. 8. TERRY STREET: from the southerly line of East Second Street to the northerly line of East Fourth Street, save and except the intersection of Fast Third Street, known and designated as Unit No. 9. PECAN STREET: from the southerly line of Seat First Street to the northerly line of East Fourth Street, save and except the intersection of East Second and East Third Streets, known and designated as Unit No. 10. GROVE STREET: from the southerly line of East Weatherford Street to the northerly line of East Fourth Street, save and except the intersections of East First, East Second and East Third Streets, known and designated as Unit No. 11. LAMAR STREET: from the southerly line of West Belknap Street to the northerly line of West Weatherford Street, known and designated as Unit No. 12. BURNETT STREET: from the southerly line of West Belknap to the northerly line of West Weatherford. Street, known and designated as Unit No. 13. CHERRY STREET: from the southerly line of West Belknap Street to the northerly line of West First Street, save and except the intersection of Weatherford Street, known and designated as Unit No. 14. FLOR&NCA STEM: from the southerly line of West Belknap Street to the northerly line of West Weatherford Street, known and designated as Unit No. 15. WEST BLUFF STRAIT: from the westerly line of Lexington Street to the westerly line of Henderson Street known and designated as Unit No. 16. WEST SECOND STRAIN: from the westerly line of Lake Street to the easterly line of Fahey Street, known and designated as Unit No. 17. LEXINGTON STRAIT: from the southerly line of Weatherford Street to the northerly line of West First Street, known and designated as Unit No. 18. WEST THIRTEENTH STREET: from the easterly line of Ballinger Street to the easterly line of Collier Street, known and designated as Unit No. 19. .,COLLIER STREET: from the northerly line of Thirteenth Street to the southerly line of Texas Street known and designated as Unit No. 20. RIO GRANDE AVENUE: from the westerly line of Summit Avenue westerly to the westerly line of Lot 19 of Block 1 of the Texas and Pacific Railway Company's Addition, known and designated as Unit No. 21. BALLINGER STRAIT: from the northerly line of Thirteenth Street to the southerly line of Texas Street, known and designated as Unit No. 22. ELM STRUT: from the southerly line of East Third Street to the northerly line of East Fourth Street, known and designated as Unit No. 23. WEST RAMSEY AVIMUZ: from the easterly line of Jennings Avenue to the westerly right-of-way line of the T.&N.O. Railroad, known and designated as Unit No. 24. WHEREAS, subsequent to the passage and approval of said ordinance, plans and specifications for said improvements were submitted by the Public Works Director and said plans and specifications were approved and adopted by the City Council; and, WHEREAS, notice to bidders was given as required by the City Charter; and, WHEREAS, the bid of Texas Bitulithic Company, was found to be the lowest and best bid for the making and construction of said improvements, to wit, excavation of present streets and placing 3" compacted foundation course with combined curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances, and placing lz" Hot Mix Asphaltic Con- crete Surface on 6" Reinforced Concrete Base, all as provided by said plans and specifications. NOw, THER'HF'ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT wORTH,TEIAS: SECTION 1. That the work of making and constructing such improvements and contract therefor is hereby awarded to Texas Bitulithic Company, at and for the prices stated in the proposal of the said company and as reported and recommended by the Public Works Department. The Wor and City Secretary are hereby directed to execute the said contract in the name of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and to impress the corporate seal of the City thereon, the said Contract embracing therein, among other things, the prices for the work. SECTION 2. That to provide for the payment of the indebtedness incurred by the City of Fort worth by said Contract, there is here- by appropriated out of available funds which have been set aside for said purpose, an amount sufficient to pay said indebtedness so incurred. SECTION 3. That the Public Works Director of the City of Fort Worth be and he is hereby ordered and directed to file with the City Council estimates of the cost of such improvements in accordance with the terms of the powers and provisions of Chapter 106 of the Acts of the First Called Session of the Fortieth Legislature of the State of Texas, now shown as Article 1105b of Vernon's Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, Annotated, which law has been adopted as an amendment to and made a part of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth. APPROVED AS TO FOB(: CITY ATTORNEY r TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; Referring to the report of the Public Works Department in connection with bids for the improvements of portions of Bluff, First, Second, Fourth, Hampton, Crump, Elm, Terry, Pecan, Grove, Iamar, Burnett, Cherry, Florence, Lexington, Thirteenth, Collier, and Ballinger Streets, and Rio Grande and Ramsey Avenues, in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and to the proposed contract therefor, it appears that the amount which the City will pay in connection with such contract and improvements is the sum of One Hundred. Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00).. I do hereby certify to the City Council of the City of Fort Worth that the money required for such contract and expenditures which will be incurred thereby is in the Treasury to the credit of the Street Improvement Fund and not appropriated for any other purpose.
