Mr. W. 0. Jones Re: Request for Closing a Portion of
City Manager 14th Street between West Vickery
Building Boulevard and the East-West Expres s
tray.
Dear Sir:
Attached is a letter from Mr. Paul E. Haynes, 3737 Carter Street,
Fort Worth, Texas, requesting the closing of a portion of 14th
Street from the north line of the East-West alley in Block 27,
L. J. Hawkins Addition, north to the Expressway.
We have checked this request on the ground and find that 14th
Street is not open on the ground and due to a high fill it can-
not be opened into the Expressway.
We are attaching a plat that shows the location of this street.
We have shown in color the portion of the street on which the re-
quest for closing is made. There are no utility lines in the
street.
The street is only twenty-five feet in width. Since it cannot
be opened into the Expressway and as Mrs. Haynes owns all of the
property adjacent to this portion of loth Street, we see no rea-
son why it should remain open.
Our recommendation is that the portion of 14th Street from the
north line of the alley in Block 27, L. J. Hawkins Addition, to
the southerly line of the East-West Expressway, be closed as re-
quested.
Yours very t
