FIRST EXTENSION OF CITY SECRETARY
CONTRACT NO 35339
THIS FIRST EXTENSION to City Secretary Contract No. 35339 (hereinafter "Extension") is
entered into by and betvyeen the City of Fort Worth ("City"), ahome- 1 Tm�uunicipality in the State of
Texas, acting through ba d SY11G..y`f , its duly authorized�tfssistant City Manager, and
Intercon Environmental, Inc., a corporation registered in Texas, acting through Karen Andrews, its
duly authorized President, hereinafter called "Contractor".
WHEREAS, the City and Contractor entered into that certain agreement identified as City Secretary
Contract No. 35339 (also the "Contract") commencing on May 15, 2007 and ending May 14, 2008
with two consecutive one year renewal terms for removal, packaging, transportation and disposal of
asbestos -containing and mold -contaminated materials from City owners facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City and Contractor wish to exercise the second extension option;
WHEREAS, the parties agree that all other conditions, terms and pricing shall remain the same as
stated in City Secretary Contract No. 35339.
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein, and other
good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged and
confessed, the parties hereto agree as follows:
The Contract with Intercon Environmental, Inc., for the removal, packaging, transportation and
disposal ofasbestos-containing and mold -contaminated materials from City owned facilities known
as City Secretary Contract No. 35339 shall be extended pursuant to Article 1 "Term" for its second
one (1) year renewal beginning May 15, 2008 and ending May 14, 2009.

Rescind Award of Contract to Intercon Environmental Services, Inc., and Authorize Execution of a
Contract with Intercon Environmental, Inc., for Removal, Packaging, Transportation and Disposal of
Asbestos -Containing Materials and Mold Contaminated Materials from City -Owned Facilities
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Rescind the award of contract to Intercon Environmental Services, Inc.; and
2. Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Intercon Environmental, Inc. for removal,
packaging, transportation and disposal of asbestos -containing materials and mold contaminated materials
from City -owned facilities, for a one year contract with two successive one-year renewal options with an
annual fee not to exceed $50,000 for each contract year.
DISCUSSION:
On March 6, 2007, (M&C C-21997) the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with
Intercon Environmental Services, Inc., Subsequent to Council approval, it was determined that the legal
name of the entity should be Intercon Environmental, Inc., rather than Intercon Environmental Services, Inc.
Intercon Environmental, Inc., is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 10 percent
M/WBE participation. The City's goal on this project is 10 percent.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current operating budget, as appropriate, of the
Environmental Management Fund..
