HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 5175 ORDINANCE NO. S 17 OFFICUIL RECORD CITY SECRaTARY AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE PUBLIC STREETS, FT. WORTH, TEX. THOROUGHFARES AND WAYS AS DEDICATED ON PLAT OF FAIR HILLS ADDITION, RECORDED IN VOLUME 388-13, AT PAGE 60, PLAT RECORDS OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the following public streets, thoroughfares and ways as dedicated on plat of Fair Hills Addition, recorded in Vol- ume 388-13, at page 60, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same are hereby closed, abandoned and perma- nently vacated as streets or public thoroughfares of any kind or character whatever, save and except that easements are re- tained for any and all existing utilities and storm drains: Rue Cote between the east line of Tyra Lane and the north line of Ohio Garden Road; Calle Noma between the easterly line of Rue Cote and the west line of Ohio Garden Road; Glisson Way between the west line of Ohio Garden Road and the north line of Ohio Garden Road; and The portions of Tyra Lane between the south line of Quail Trail and the north line of Ohio Garden Road not included in the dedication of Tyra Lane shown on the plat of Fountain Mist Apartment Addition, recorded in Volume 388-35, page 47, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said streets is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law. i SECTION 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. Dahl.inger, property owners, have requested the closing of streets dedicated in the plat of Fair Hills Addition as recorded in Volume 388-13, Page 60, Plat Reccrdf of Tarrant County, Texas, as shown on the attached map. In order to clear the title and permit more effective development of the area, the property owners request abandonment of the streets as dedicated by the earlier platting. The private utility companies and the Public Works, Water, Traffic Engineering, and Planning Departments have no objection to closing the streets provided easements are retained for Axisting utilities and storm drains. The City Plan Commission has reviewed the request and recommends that the plat of "Fair Hills Addition" be abandoned in order to permit desirable development of the area.
