R. Bahan, representing adjacent property owners (M&C PZ-186). Subsequent review of the ordinances abandoning streets in this area has revealed that portions of Downman Street to be abandoned were omitted from the ordinance because of confusion between the old and new alignments of the Trinity River. It was the intention of the property owners and the City Plan Commission that Downman Street be closed between the old Trinity River and Turnpike. Attached is a map showing streets closed May 2, 1966 by- Ordinance No. 5564 (in cross hatch), and thatportion of Downman Street closed February 3, 1961 by Ordinance No. 4432 (in red). The portion of Downman Street which was in- correctly assumed to have been closed by Ordinance No. 4432 (as shown in di- agonal lines) is the portion for which it is proposed that a correcting or- dinance be. adopted. In order to carry out the intention of previous ordinances and correct an inadvertent omission of abandonment of a portion of Downman Street, it is recommended that an ordinance be adopted which will vacate Downman Street from the ol& Trinity River south to the north right-of-way of the Fort Worth-Dallas Turnpike as requested by the adjacent property owners and as recommended by the Plan Commission.
