HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6175 ORDINANCE NO. � AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE NORTH FIF- TEEN (15) FEET OF THE 100 FOOT RIGHT-OP-WAY OF CULLEN STREET FOR A DISTANCE OF 926.8 FEET LYING BETWEEN FOCH STREET ON THE WEST AND VACEK STREET ON THE EAST, ADJACENT TO THE MOST SOUTHERLY PORTION OF LOTS 7, 8, 9, 10, AND 11 OF BLOCK 14, AND LOTS 6, 7, 8, 9, AND 10 OF BLOCK 11, BAILEY'S INDUSTRIAL ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE RE- VERSON OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC- TIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the north fifteen (15) feet of the 100 foot right- of-way of Cullen Street for a distance of 926.8 feet lying between Poch Street on the west and Vacek Street on the east, adjacent to the most southerly portion of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of Block 14, and Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Block 11, Bailey's Industrial Addition to the City of Fort Worth, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. No portion of the circular intersections of Foch and Cullen or Vacek and Cullen Streets is vacated, closed or abandoned. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. BIJC MATTE REFERENCE SUBJECT: Vacation of North 15 Feet Of PAGE NUMBER Cullen Street - 2600 Block GRAHAM ►+Kwr PZ-358 1 of 1 r R> w<, 1s Lenmo, Inc. , and Fort Worth Associated Properties, owners of all abutting property, have requested that the City vacate the north fifteen (15) feet 8^' of the existing 100 foot right-of-way of Cullen Street a length of 926.8 feet. Subject right-of-way abuts the south property lines of Blocks 11 and 14, Bailey's Industrial Addition, as shown on the attached map. Subject portion of Cullen Street right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is part of an extra wide parkway. This request is made for the purpose of providing additional area for off-street parking. City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objection to this vacation provided the Applicants plat the vacated right-of-way with adjoining property and retain the south five (5) feet of vacated right-of-way as a drainage easement. The City Plan 'Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested, subject to the conditions recommended above by the City departments and private utility companies. The applicants have submitted a satisfactory replat. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of- way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
