HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 7676 ORDINANCE NO. 14 14 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING GALVESTON AVENUE IN THE 900 BLOCK A WIDTH OF 50' AND A LENGTH OF 300' FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF TERRELL STREET SOUTH TO THE NORTH LINE OF HUMBOLT STREET ABUTTING BLOCKS 1/1 AND 2/1 OF MULKEY SUB- DIVISION OF FIELDS-WELCH ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CON- FLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Galveston Avenue in the 900 Block a width of 50' and a length of 300' from the south line of Terrell Street south to the north line of Humbolt Street abutting Blocks 1/1 and 2/1 of Mulkey Subdivision of Fields-Welch Addition to the City of Fort Worth, be and the same is hereby vacated, abandoned and permanently closed as a right-of-way for street purposes. SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in the above described street right-of-way is hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are reserved therein for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY: S. G. JOHNDROE, JR. RAZD SIAVQ HUMA12/13/77 PZ-829 Galveston Avenue (V-77-66) i or WIL[W.% NEEI LAKE Vandervoort Dairies, owner of all abutting property, has requested,(thati-th-6r, City vacate, abandon and close Galveston Avenue in the 900 block a width of 50 feet and a length of 300 feet from the south line of Terrell Street south to the north line of Humbolt Street abutting Blocks 1/1 and 2/1 of Mulkey Subdivision of Fields-Welch Addition, to the City of Fort Worth. The subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is open and paved and further contains water, sewer and gas facilities. The City Plan Commission has re- viewed this request and recommends its approval subject to a replat providing necessary easements. Such a replat has now been submitted to City staff. Recommendation S T2ELI — It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject .srrewt as requested.
