HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1077 At a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas held in the Council Chamber at the city hall on Saturday, the 9th day of May, A. D. 1925, the following were present: H. C. Meacham, Mayor, Willard Burton, T. B. Hoffer, A. E. Thomas, Wm. Bryce, E. T. Renfro, Wm. Mon- nig, W. E. Austin and L. P. Card, Councilmen, constituting the entire member ship of said council of nine members, and none were absent, and City Secretary C. S. Snow was in attendance at said meeting, and the following business among other things was had and transacted at said meeting: On motion of Councilman , sec- onded by Councilman , the following ordinance was unanimously passed and adopted, all of the Coun- cilmen including the Mayor voting aye and none voting no: ORDINANCE NO. Z%'7 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CANCELLATION OF FIVE WARRANTS WITH INTEREST OJ UPONS ATTACHED RE- MAINING UNDELIVERED DESIGNATED "CITY OF FORT WORTH 25TH STREET AND AZLE ROAD PAVING WARRANTS." WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, on the 18th day of April, A. D. 1922, passed ordinance No. 825 providing for the issuance of City of Fort Worth 25th Street and Azle Road Paving Warrants in the sum of $30,000 in the denomination of $1,000 each numbered from 1 to 30, to be delivered to the General Construction Company upon approved estimates as the work contemplated under said ordinance progressed; and f WHEREAS, the said work of paving and construction of rock asphalt surfacing of 25th Street between its inter- section with the west line of North Main Street to its inter- section with Azle Road, then Azle Road to city limits has been fully completed and there have been delivered to said Con- struction Company under authority of resolutions properly passed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth warrants Nos. 1 to 25 inclusive aggregating $25,000; and WHEREAS, all of the services to be performed and materials to be furnished have been performed and furnished and the remaining five warrants together with the interest coupons thereto attached from 1 to 12 inclusive will not be needed; NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT VIORTH: SECTION I That the remaining warrants Nos. 26 to 30 inclusive of said series of warrants designated City of Fort Worth 25th Street and Azle Road Paving Warrants, together with interest coupons attached from 1 to 12 inclusive be and they are hereby ordered destroyed and cancelled, the council at this time find- ing and determining that sufficient warrants have been legally executed and delivered to said Construction Company to pay for said services and materials in Rill. SECTION II The Mayor and the City Secretary are hereby directed to physically destroy said unused and undelivered warrants. SECTION III This ad.inance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage as provided by law. Approved this the day of May, A. D. 1925.
