AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING
CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE 0MINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A
DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE PROVISIONS CF SECTION 40, CHAPTER X)MII OF THE CITY
CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the
City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate
limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said terri-
tory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes
and bounds as follows:
Parcel No. 1
Beginning at a point in the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line, said point being in the south line of
Terminal Road and the east line of State Highway F.M. No.
156 (Blue Mound Road.) extended south;
Thence north along the east right of way line of State
Highway F.M. No. 156 to its intersection with the north
right of way line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railway spur
line;
Thence east and northerly along said Fort Worth and Denver
Railway Company's right of way line to a point in said
Railway Company's southwesterly right of way line that is
due east of the northeast corner of the James Huie Survey,
said point being also in the City of Fort Worth city limit
line as set forth in Ordinance No. 2853, first reading
February 28, 1951;
Thence west along the said city limit line and the north
line of the James Rule Survey extended east to the northeast
corner of said survey;
Thence south along the east line of the James Huie Survey
to the southeast corner thereof;
Thence west along the south line of the James Huie and the
E. Jones Surveys to a point in the westerly right of way line
of the G. C. & S. F. main line;
Thence southerly along the westerly right of way line of
the G. C. & S. F. main line to a point, said point being due
north of the intersection of the west right of way line of
U. S. Highway No. 81 and the south right of way line of the
G. C. & S. F. Railway Co. spur track to the Trinity Portland
Cement Plant, said point being in the present City of Fort
Worth city limit line;
Thence south along the present City of Fort Worth city limit
line to the intersection of the west right of way line of
U. S. Highway No. 81 and the south right of way line of the
G. C. & S. F. Railway Co. spur;
Thence in a southerly direction along the present city
limit line and along the westerly right of way line of U. S.
Highway No. 81 (North Main Street) to the north line of 38th
Street;
Thence east along the present City of Fort Worth city
limit line and along the north line of 38th Street to the
west line of Decatur Avenue;
Thence north along the present City of Fort Worth city
limit line and along the west line of Decatur Avenue to the
south right of way line of Terminal Road;
Thence west along the present City of Fort Worth city limit
line and along the south line of Terminal Road to a point
in the east line of State Highway F.M. No. 156 (Blue Mound
Road) extended south, said point being the place of beginning,
and containing approximately 1.0 square mile.
Parcel No. 2
Beginning at a point in the present City of Fort Worth
city limit line as set forth in Ordinance No. 2853, first
reading February 28, 1951, said point being the southwest
corner of the W. R. Ross 225.5 acre tract of land and the
northeasterly right of way line of the Fort Worth and Denver
City Railway Co.;
Thence southeasterly along the northeasterly right of way
line of the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Co. to the
north line of D. Odum Road (County Road No. 3098);
Thence east along the north line of D. Odum Road to its
intersection with the west line of County Road No. 3048
(Old Denton Road);
Thence north along the said west line of County Road No.
3048 to a point due east of the southeast corner of the
W. R. Ross 225.5 acre tract of land;
Thence west along the south line of the W. R. Ross tract
extended east and the south line of said tract to the south-
west corner thereof, being the place of beginning, and con-
taining approximately 0.33 square mile.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in the Fort Worth
Star-Telex, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in
accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City
Charter.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and
effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty
(30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so or-
dained.
