The Essex Company, owner of all adjoining property, has requested the
closing of the portion of Wheelock Drive from the south right-of-way
line of Trail Lake Drive to the north right-of-way line of Winifred
Drive, as shown on the attached map. This section of Wedgwood Drive
is not open on the ground. Abandonment of the right-of-way will per-
mit relocating the street 180 feet to the north in order to improve
drainage for the area.
Private utility companies and City departments have reviewed the request
and do not object to the proposed vacation provided easements are re-
tained for existing utilities. The applicant has filed a replat of the
street and adjoining property which dedicates the easements required by
the utility companies and the City.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed the request and recommends adop-
tion of an ordinance that has been prepared vacating the street.
City Council action on the Plan Commission recommendation is requested.
