AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT KIMBO ROAD BETWEEN
SYLVANIA AVENUE AND N. E. 28TH STREET BE VA-
CATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Kimbo Road between Sylvania Avenue and N. E.
28th Street be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and
permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of
any kind or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee
to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert
to the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

R. & S. The Public Works Department, with the consent of all adjoining property
owners, has requested the City to vacate that portion of Kimbo Road which
RgSD MAH NEY is between Sylvania and N. E. 28th Street, as shown on the attached map.
The subject street will not be used as a public street following the Xt-
reconstruction of Sylvania due to the planned realignment of Sylvania.
Abandonment of the street will permit the construction of a right hand
turn lane for south bound traffic on Sylvania. The abandoned property
will revert to the adjacent property owners.
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed the subject
request and have voiced no objection to the proposed vacation.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed the subject request and recommends
adoption of an ordinance that has been prepared vacating the public
right-of-way as requested.
City Council action on the Plan Commission recommendation is requested.
