OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER Communication to Mayor and Council No. PZ38
December 31, 1962
Honorable Mayor and
Members of the City Council Re: Proposed Closing, Portions of
City of Fort Worth Nottingham Boulevard and
Yolanda Drive
Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen:
The original platting of North Meadowbrook Estates Addition provided for
extending Nottingham Boulevard north of Yolanda Drive, and for extending
Yolanda directly west to connect with Handley Drive. However, when the
North Meadowbrook Village Addition subdivision was approved by the City
Plan Commission, it was determined that Handley Drive should be relocated
to permit a better connection with the East Loop (I-820). The relocation
of Handley Drive caused the following revisions in the street pattern:
a) it is no longer planned to extend Nottingham Boulevard north of
YolandaZ'.Drive, and b) Yolanda Drive has been revised to improve its inter-
section with the new location of Handley Drive.
The Public Works and City Planning Departments recommend that the portion
of these two streets which are no longer needed for public use, as illu-
strated on the attached plat, be closed to provide for the proper develop-
ment of North Meadowbrook Village Addition. All interested parties, in-
cluding private and municipal utility companies, have been contacted, and
no objections to the proposed closing hAve been received.
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted closing the portions of
Nottingham Boulevard and Yolanda Drive 'shown on the attached plat.
Respectfully submitted,
LPC:ih L. P. Cookingham
