ORDINANCE NO. �a rITY SECRETARY
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING
CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN
A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII CF
THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City
of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits
and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory
being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes
and bounds as follaws:
Being a tract of land about 10 miles south from the
Court House of Tarrant County, Texas and lying in the
S. A. and M. G. R.R. Co., J. Jennings, J. Wilcox, T. 0.
Moody, C. Martin, J. H. Duncan, Moses Walters, J. Korticky,
W. H. Colthard, H. Riddle, I. and G. N. R.R. Co., H. K.
Maples, J. R. Leath, A. Castillo, A. Fernandes, John
Colthard, H. Foster, P. Caldwell, J. Armendaris, H.
Mendoze, A. S. Young, Joseph Boden, H. G. Catlett No.
S449, H. G. Catlett No. S-150, and H. G. Catlett No.
S-157 Surveys.
BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort Worth
City Limit Line at its intersection with the westerly
right-of-ray line of the G. C. and S. F. R.R. Co., in
the westerly north line of the S. A. & M. G. R.R. Co.
survey;
THENCE southerly along the westerly right—of-ray line
of the G. C. and S. F. R.R. Co. to its intersection with
the north line of County Road No. 1075;
THENCE west along the north line of County Road No.
1075, with its meanders, to its intersection with the
east line of County Road No. 1035;
THENCE west, south, west, south, west, and south along
the right-of-gray line of County Road No. 1035 with its
meanders to its intersection with the south line of Tarrant
County, and continuing south to the south line of the
Joseph Boden Survey, in Johnson County, Texas;
THENCE east along the south line of the Joseph Boden
Survey to its southeast corner;
THENCE north along the east line of the Joseph Boden
Survey to the southwest corner of the A. S. Young Survey;
THENCE east along the south line of the A. S. Young
Survey to the northwesterly line of the H. G. Catlett
Survey No. S-149;
THENCE southwesterly along the northwesterly line of
the H. G. Catlett Survey No. S-149 to its west corner;
THENCE southeasterly along the southwesterly line of
the H. G. Catlett Survey No. S-3.49 to its south corner;
THENCE northeasterly along the southeasterly line of
the H. G. Catlett Survey No. S-149 to the west corner of
the H. G. Catlett Survey No. S-150;
THENCE southeasterly along the southwesterly line of
the H. G. Catlett Survey No. 5-150 to its south corner;
THENCE northeasterly along the southeasterly line of
the H. G. Catlett Survey No. 5-150 to its intersection
with the easterly right-of-way line of the G. C. and S. F.
R.R. Co.,
THENCE northerly along the westerly right-of-way line
of the G. C. and S. F. R.R. Co. to its intersection with
the south line of Tarrant County;
THENCE west along the south line of Tarrant County to
its intersection with the west line of the J. W. Corbett
Survey;
THENCE north along the west line of the J. S. Corbett
Survey to its northwest corner in the south line of the
E. Wickson Survey,
THENCE west along the south line of the E. Wickson Survey
to its southwest corner;
THENCE north along the west line of the E. Wickson Survey
to its northwest corner;
THENCE east along the north line of the E. Wickson Survey
to its intersection with the west line of the J. A. Gill
Survey produced south;
THENCE north, crossing the M. A. Toler, B. Pool, and Moses
Walters Surveys, to and along the west line of the J. A. Gill
Survey to its intersection with the south line of County Road
No. 1075;
THENCE east along the south line of County Road No. 1075
to its intersection with the east right-of-way line of the
G. C. and S. F. R.R.
THENCE northerly along the easterly right-of-way line of
the G. C. and S. F. R.R. to its intersection with the present
City of Fort Worth City Limit Line;
THENCE west and south along the present City of Fort .orth
City Limit Line to the place of beginning and containing
approximately 8.5 square miles.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby repeal every prior ordinance
in conflict herewith and more particularly this ordinance expressly repeals
Ordinance No. 4305 heretofore adopted and passed on June 22, 1960, but
as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict
herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance is not intended to annex and part of any area
legally within the existing corporate boundaries of any other incorporated
municipality at the time of its passage; in the event a portion of this
ordinance be found to be void and in conflict with any such area then
the voiding of any such conflicting portion shall have no effect on the
ordinance as a whole, other than the portion found to be void.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper
published in the City of Fort north, Texas, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in fall force
and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than
thirty (30) days from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it
is so ordained.
Presented and passed on first reading Friday, the _ day of
1960.
