With a quorum of the City Council Members present, the Council boarded a bus at Fort
Worth City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton, Fort Worth, Texas 76102, at 10:10 a.m., on Wednesday,
April 19, 2006, to begin their tour of City Council Member Jordan's District 6 and Mayor Pro
tem Silcox's District 3.
The bus tour began with a tour of District 6, which boundaries are Southwest Loop 820
on the north, Granbury Road on the west, Interstate Highway 35W on the east and Fort Worth
city limits on the south. The district includes the westside of the I-35W industrial corridor, south
of Loop 820. The Council toured the following locations:
1. Hallmark Community— Sheridan Road to Sycamore School Road
2. Alta Mesa Boulevard— Crowley Road to Hulen Street South
3. West Candleridge Community — Sleepy Ridge Circle to Shell Ridge Drive
4. Candle Tree Apartments—7425 South Hulen
5. Hulen Heights Neighborhood
6. Duplexes/Rental Properties—Corner of Hulen Street South and McCart Avenue
7. Risinger Road West—McCart Avenue to Hulen Street South
8. North Crowley High School—9100 South Hulen Street
9. Southwest Regional Park Site—McPherson Road
10. Cleburne Road—McPherson Road to Hulen Street South
11. Summercreek Community —Chapel Creek Boulevard to White Settlement Road
12. Trail Lake Estates—Irish Valley Trail
13. Duplexes/Rental Properties—Hastings Drive to Winesanker Way
14. 1-20/Trail Lake NEZ (Trail Lake and I1-12O)
15. Granbury Road (I1-12O to Dirks Road)
During the tour, Superintendent Greg Gibson pointed out Crowley High School, a ninth
grade school and advised of the growth of the district and other projects planned in the future.
The tour continued with the area of District 3. District 3 encompasses most of the
southwest side of Fort Worth, with a northern boundary of Interstate Highway 30 from Bryant
Irvin to Highway 80, and a south boundary to Benbrook Lane, with Highway 377 bisecting part
of the district. It reaches east as far as McCart Avenue. District 3 includes much of the new
growth in southwest Fort Worth as well as Hulen Mall. The Council toured the following
locations:

1. Proposed Highway 121 Crossing—Dirks Road and Harris Parkway
2. Future site of Medical Complexes—Harris Parkway from Dirks Road to Oakmont
Boulevard
3. Proposed Highway 121 Crossing—Bryant Irvin near Overton Ridge
4. Proposed Highway 121 Access—Hulen Street near Bridgeview
5. Weatherford Traffic Circle—Southwest Parkway and Alta Mere
6. Las Vegas Trail—From Highway 580 to IH30
7. Chapel Creek Neighborhood—gas well
8. Old Weatherford Road—Chapel Creek to Chapin Road
9. Westside Landfill/Transfer Station—IH30 and Linkcrest
10. Highway 580/Camp Bowie Boulevard — IH30 and Linkcrest. Brandi O'Quinn,
Executive Director, Historic Camp Bowie, briefed Council on this area.
11. Return to City Hall
With the tour completed, the City Council returned to the Fort Worth City Hall, 1000
Throckmorton, Fort Worth, Texas 76102, at 1:20 p.m., on Thursday, April 19, 2006.
