HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006/04/18-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 18, 2006 Date & Time On the 18th day of April,A.D., 2006, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, met in special session, at 12:55 p.m.,with the following members and officers present: Attendance Mayor Mike Moncrief; Mayor Pro tempore Chuck Silcox; Council Members Salvador Espino, Becky Haskin, Donavan Wheatfall, Jungus Jordan, Carter Burdette, Kathleen Hicks and Wendy Davis; City Manager Charles Boswell; and Assistant City Attorney Peter Vaky. With more than a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Executive Session It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Council meet in closed session at 12:55 p.m. to: 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules, and as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code: a) Legal issues concerning jail services contracts; b) Legal issues concerning DFW Airport; c) Legal issues involving the automobile accident that occurred on April 12, 2006, on Old Granbury Road, involving a Fort Worth Police Department vehicle driven by Chris Fearneyhough; d) Legal issues concerning any item listed on today's City Council meeting agendas; and 2. Deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property in accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and 3. Deliberate concerning economic development negotiations as authorized by Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code; and 4. Deliberate the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices, in accordance with Section 551.076 of the Texas Government Code. 5. Deliberate personnel matters in accordance with Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code, including but not limited to the following: CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FORT WORTH, TEXAS APRIL 18,2006 PAGE 2 of 2 a) To deliberate personnel issues involving the evaluation, reappointment, employment, compensation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of each Municipal Court Judge or to hear complaints or charges against such officers— Stephanie J. Beamer, Gabriella K. Bendslev, Simon C. Gonzalez, Alicia R. Johnson, Sharon Newman-Stanfield, Jo Ann Reyes, James D. Rodgers, Deputy Chief Judge Steven C. Williamson, and Chief Judge Ninfa L. Mares. b) To deliberate personnel issues involving the evaluation, reappointment, employment, compensation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of each Pro Tem Municipal Court Judge or to hear complaints or charges against such officers — Charles F. Berger, Andrew Bradshaw, Ann Y. Collins, Faye R. Harden, Nelda F. Harris, Carla G. Kelman, Nancy A. Magee, Nemuel E. Pettie, Nancy E. Strickland, Patricia L. Summers and Edward B. Valverde. c) To deliberate the qualifications of persons under consideration for appointment to the position of Municipal Court Judge.
