Hunter, Commissioner of Lights; constituting the entire membership of the Board, and the following proceedings, among other things, were had and done: Commissioner Lord, seconded by Commissioner r Gilvin, moved the adoption of the following resolution: 1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CO2'_`1Z?SIOaNERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: THAT WHEREAS moneys are needed for the improve- ment w.:t: a-*.ension of the water and sewer.sy:tem of the City of Fort 'forth; for the construction and improvement of the streets and thoroughfares of, said city; for the improvement and extension of the lighting systa;:. of said city; and for the extensi--- and improvement of the fire department of said city, so as to make said systems and dpy artments a.de4u�te to the growing needs of an expand:- ing population of said city, and WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable by the Board of Commisaioners of the City of Fort Worth to issue bonds of said city for such purposes as hereinafter specified y and set out; and AREAS, it is necessary that the issuance of such bonds be authorized by the qualified voters of said city Who pay taxes on property therein; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of said city that there be submitted at an election to be held in the City of Fort Worth on the 30th day of December A. D. 1922 to the qualified voters of said city of -Fort North who are property tax payers therein, the following propositions for the issuance of bonds of the governz:ent of the City of Fort Worth, each of which said propositions shall be separately submitted on one ballot to be used at such election, to—Wit: I Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its Board of Commissioners issue its negotiable coupon bonds running from five (5) to forty (40) years in the principal sum of one million five hundred thousand ($1,500,000.00) dollars for the purpose of improving and extending the water and sewer system of said city, payable at the expiration of five (5) years from date thereof and serially thereafter from year to year so that the last maturing bonds shall be— come payable forty (40) years from the date thereof, bear— ing interest at the rwwe of five per cent rer annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annu117, and levy a suf— fioient tax to pay the int°crest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to rede--:.: said bonds ..t the r � , •,. tiar Or 'or ,w maturity thereof. II Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its Board. of Commissioners, issue its negotia ble coupon bonds running from five (5) to forty (40) years in the principal sum of eight hundred thousand ($800,000.00) dollars for the pur- pose of constructing, improving and extending the streets and thoroughfares of said city, payable at the expiration of five (5) years from date thereof and serially thereafter from year to year so that the last maturing bonds shall be- come payable forty (40) years from the date thereof, bear- ing interest at the rate of five per cent per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annually, and levy a suf- ficient tax to pay the interest on said"bonde and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at the maturity thereof. III Shall the City of Fort • orth, through its Board of Commissioners, issue its negotiable coupon bonds running from five (5) to forty (40) years in the principal sum of two hundred fifty thousand ($250,000.00) dollars for the purpose of improving and extending the lighting system of said city, payable at the expi--ation of five (5) years from date thereof and serially thereafter from year to year so that the last maturing bonds shall become payable forty (40) years from the date thereof, bearing interest at the rate of five per cent per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annually, and levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund suf- ficient to redeem said bonds at the maturity thereof? IV Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its Board of Commissioners, issue its negotiable coupon bonds running from five (5) to forty (40) years in the principal sum of two hundred thousand ($200,000.00) dollars for the purpose of improving and extending the system of,fire protection of said city, payable at the expiration of five (5) years from date thereof and serially thereafter from year to year so that the last maturing bonds shall become pay- able 'forty (40) years from the date thereof, bearing in- terest at the rate of five per cent per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annually,and levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sink- ing fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at the maturity thereof? And the Mayor, E. R. Cockrell, presiding at such meeting having put the motion to adopt said reso- lution to the Board, then and thereupon all the Commis- sioners, including the Mayor, voted "Aye" thereon, and none voting "No," said resolution was unanimously pas ed and adopter: And immediately following the adoption of said resolution, on motion of Commissioner Lord, seconded by Comr:issioner Gilvin, the entire Board of Commissioners, including the Mayor, concurrin,, 'herein and voting "Aye" thereon, so that said motion was unanimously passed and adopted, the following ELECTION ORDER was adopted, and became the official and unanimous action of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort '..orth; T.FHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City r rth deem it advisable to issue negotiable couponaid city for the purposes hereinafter mentioned, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT NORTH: I That an election be held in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, on the 30th day of December A.. D. 1922, ,at the polling places hereinafter mentioned, between the hours of 8:00 a. 7:00 p. ;.., at whi" elw- tion the following propositions for the issuance of bonds of the City of Fort ::orth hall be submitted io the qualified voters of said city who are property tax payers therein: 1. III Each proposition for the issuance of said bonds shall and will be separately stated, so that the voters hall pass upon each issue separately and apart from the others. All voters who favor each one of said propo- sitions to issue said bonds shall have written or printed upon their ballots the words: "FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS.0 And those opposed shall have written or printed ion their ballots: "AGAINST'THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS." iv The manner of holding this slecial election, the polling places, the personnel of the officers who are to hold the same and all details connected with the holding of the election shall be determined and arranged by the Board of Commissioners and proper notice of such matters shall be given in a proclamation by the Mayor. v A copy of this ordinance signed by the Mayor of the City of Fort Worth, attested by the City Seoretaxy %W 7fi J + of said City, shall serve as a proper notice of said election. ' VI The Moor is authorized and directed to cause said notice of the election to be posted up at the City Hall, and at two other public Ilaces within said city for at least ten full days prior to the date of said election. VII The Mayor is further authorized and directed to have said notice of election published in some daily newspaper of general circuldtion published in said city for ten days consecutively next prior to the date of said election.
