AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING
CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTHY PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN
A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF
THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City
of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits
and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory
being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes
and bounds as follows:
Being a tract of land about 10 miles south from the
Court House of Tarrant County, Texas, and lying in the
G. M. Teague, J. Be Renfro, G. H. Hamilton, J. M. Robinson,
Green Be Stone, Joseph Martin, Sarah Gray, John Steele,
William Stone, J. Be Phillips, Henry Lane, S. A. and M. G._
R.R. Co., John Sise, and J. J. Scott Surveys.
BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort Worth
City Limit Line at its intersection with the east line of
U. S. Highway No. 81 (South), in the south line of the G. W.
Main Survey;
THENCE southerly along the easterly line of U. S. High-
way No. 81 (South) to its intersection with the south line
of Tarrant County, Texas;
THENCE west along the south line of Tarrant County, Texas
to its intersection with the, east line of the M. K. and T.
R.R. Co. right-of-way;
THENCE northerly along the easterly line of the M. K. and T.
R.R. Co. right-of-way to its intersection with the south line
of County Road No. 1078;
THENCE east along the south line of County Road No. 1078
to its intersection with the west line of U. S. Highway No.
81 (South);
THENCE north along the west line of U. Sr Highway No. 81
(South) to its intersection with the present City of Fort
Worth City Limit Line;
THENCE east along the present City of Fort Worth City
Limit Line to the place of beginning and containing approxi-
mately 0.21 square miles.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby repeal every prior ordinance
in conflict herewith and more particularly this ordinance expressly repeals
Ordinance No. 14305 heretofore adopted and passed on June 22, 1960, but
as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict
herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance is not intended to annex any part of any area
legally within the existing corporate boundaries of any other incorporated
municipality at the time of its passage; in the event a portion of this
ordinance be found to be void and in conflict with any such area then
the voiding of any such conflicting portion shall have no effect on the
ordinance as a whole, other than the portion found to be void.
SECTION fit.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper
published in the City of Fart Worth, Texas, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 40, Chapter XIMII of the City Charter.
SECTION 5•
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and
effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty
(30) days from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so
ordained.
