ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT PRUITT STREET
BETWEEN SOUTH LAKE STREET AND FIFTH AVENUE
BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING
FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Pruitt Street between South Lake Street and
Fifth Avenue be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and
permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any
kind or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the
fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall
revert to the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

Gause-Ware Funeral Home and Fifth Avenue Clinic, owners of all adjoining
MAHONEY property, have requested the City to vacate the portion of Pruitt Street
located between South Lake Street and Fifth Avenue.
The subject street is paved. Abandonment of the street will permit its
replatting with adjoining properties to provide additional off-street
parking.
City departments and the private utility companies have reviewed this
request and have voiced no objection to the proposed vacation, provided the
subject street is replatted with adjoining properties and easements are
retained for existing utilities.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed the subject request and recommends
adoption of an ordinance, that has been prepared, vacating the public
right-of-way as requested, subject to the applicant's replatting the sub-
ject right-of-way with adjoining properties and reserving easements for
existing utilities.
The applicant has submitted a replat which incorporates the subject right-
of--way with the adjoining properties and dedicates the easements as
requested. The applicant has also agreed to provide a pedestrian walk
way through the area to be vacated.
City Council action on the City Plan Commission's recommendation is
requested.
