SUBJECT: PROPOSED COUNCIL-INITIATED ZONING CHANGE FOR 7351 AND
7401 NORTH FREEWAY
The July 13 City Council agenda will contain an M&C to initiate the zoning process for 7351
and 7401 North Freeway (1-35W). The purpose of the proposed zoning change is to rezone
vacant land to zoning classifications that are consistent with the 2010 Comprehensive Plan.
For your reference, the attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use from
the 2010 Comprehensive Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning.
Councilmember Espino mailed a letter to the affected property owner regarding the
proposed zoning change in March 2010. No response or opposition has been expressed to
date.
The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held on August 11, 2010,
at the Zoning Commission meeting and at the City Council meeting of September 7, 2010.
If you have any questions, please contact Dana Burghdoff, Deputy Planning and
Development Director, at 817-392-8018.
