a SUBJECT: EASTERN PARKER COUNTY INFRASTRUCTURE CONFERENCE
On June 29, 2010, the City of Fort Worth will host an Eastern Parker County Infrastructure
Conference. The purpose of the conference will be to discuss North Texas 2050 and its
implications for eastern Parker County. In addition, specific infrastructure issues such as water
supply and quality, wastewater treatment, transportation and air quality issues will be discussed.
For eastern Parker County, the North Texas 2050 report contemplates the development of certain
suburban areas and distinct communities, as well as the conservation of certain rural and natural
areas. The report also recommends various policies by which communities might make sound
decisions to achieve these development and conservation goals.
Approximately 100 local officials are expected to attend including mayors and elected and
appointed officials from the eastern Parker County communities of Aledo, Annetta, Annetta North,
Annetta South, Willow Park, Hudson Oaks and Weatherford. County Commissioners from Tarrant
and Parker Counties will also be in attendance as will officials from the Aledo ISD.
The conference will conclude with an afternoon panel discussion among the eastern Parker
County mayors to receive their feedback on the various infrastructure issues addressed and to
talk about how the communities might work together in the future to achieve the goals of North
Texas 2050. The panel discussion will be moderated by Mike Eastland, Executive Director, North
Central Texas Council of Governments.
Speakers at the conference will include Mayor Pro Tern Danny Scarth, City of Fort Worth staff,
the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Tarrant Regional Water District and Mr.
Malcolm Louden of Walsh Holdings.
The conference will be held at the Deborah Beggs Moncrief Botanic Garden Center and a draft
agenda is attached. Your attendance at the conference would be welcome; if you are interested
in attending or have any questions, please contact Allison Gray, of the Planning and
Development Department at 817-392-8030.
