SUBJECT: PROPOSED COUNCIL-INITIATED ZONING CHANGE FOR 10300
OLD DENTON ROAD
The July 13 City Council agenda will contain an M&C to initiate the zoning process for
10300 Old Denton Road, which lies south of Golden Triangle Boulevard and east of Old
Denton Road. The purpose of the proposed zoning change is to rezone vacant land to a
zoning classification that is consistent with the 2010 Comprehensive Plan and proposed
uses of the property owner, Keller Independent School District. For your reference, the
attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use from the 2010 Comprehensive
Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning.
Councilmember Espino mailed a letter to the affected property owner regarding the
proposed zoning change in March 2010. No response or opposition has been expressed to
date.
The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held on August 11, 2010,
at the Zoning Commission meeting and at the City Council meeting of September 7, 2010.
