HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3786 ORDINANCE N0. IEZ �0_ AN ORDINANCE DISCONTINUING TERRITORY FRO_ WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF TFIE CITY OF FORT WORTH, AND PRESCRIBING AN EE'ECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF "11ORT WORTH, TEXAS: Section 1. That the 'hereinafter described territory within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth is hereby discontinued as a part of the City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and be- ing described by metes and bounds as follows: BEING a 21-acre tract of land out of the J. W. Smith Survey lying between Grafa-blary's Creek Road and U. S. Highway No. 377 and being more fully des- cribed as follows: BEGINTNING at a point in the east line of Grafa- Mary's Creek Road approximately 700 feet south of Ewing Avenue, said point being in the southwest corner of Lot 3, Hamilton's Subdivision; THENCE, south with the east line of Grafa-Mary's Creek Road approximately 2,104 feet to its inter- section with the westerly line of U. S. Highway No. 377; THENCE, north 23 degrees 57 minutes east with the westerly line of U. S. Highway No. 377 approxi- mately 2,096 feet to a corner in the Benbrook city limit line described by Benbrook's Ordinance No. 15; THENCE, north 66 degrees 3 minutes west 490 feet to a corner in the Benbrook city limit line as des- cribed by Benbrook's Ordinance No. 15; THENCE, south 89 degrees 15 minutes west approxi- mately 426 feet to the place of beginning, and con- taining approximately 21 acres of land. Section 2. That this ordinance shall become effective and shall be in ull force and effect from and after its passage, and it is so ordained, PRESENTED AND PASSED on Friday, TMarch 7, 1958. (1) ORDINANCE NO. 15 ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE VILLAGE OF BENBROOK, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDRY LIMITS OF SAID VILLAGE SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID VILLAGE LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO ALL THE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS, ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS AND REGULATIONS OF SAID VILLAGE. WHEREAS, a petition has been signed by a majority of the pro- perty owners who are citizens of the State of Texas and inhab- itants of the following described territory, to-wit: Beginning at a point of intersection of the center line of Williams Road and the Westerly R.O.W. of State Highway No. 16, said point of intersection being 5909.8 ft. South from the North line of the McKinney & Williams Survey; Thence with the Westerly R.O.W. of State Highway No. 10, North 23 deg. 57 min. East 2166.4 ft. to a point for corner; Thence North 66 deg. 03 min. West 490 ft. to a point for corner; Thence South 89 deg. 15 min. West 451 ft. to a point in the center of Williams Road, for corner; Thence South with center of Williams Road, 2171.8 ft. to a place of beginning, containing; 22.36 acres. WHEREAS, said territory is adjoining the Village of Benbrook, and WHEREAS, said petition, desiring and requesting the annexation of said territory to said Village, has been presented to the Board of Aldermen and has attached to it the affidavit of three (3) of said applicants to the effect that said petition is signed by a majority of the qualified voters within such property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE VILLAGE OF BENBROOK, TEXAS: That the following described property, to-wit: Beginning at a point of intersection of the center line of Williams Road and the Westerly R.O.W. of State Highway No. 10, said point of Intersection being 5IQ2.8 ft. West 451 ft. to a point in the center of Williams Road, for corner; Thence South with center of Williams Road, 2171.8 ft. to a place of beginning, containing 22.36 acres. be and the same is hereby annexed to the village of Benbrook, Tarrant County, Texas, and that the boundry limits of the Village of Benbrook be and the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within the Village limits of the Village of Benbrook, and the same shall here- after be included within the territorial limits of said Village, and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the Village of Benbrook and they shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of said Village.
